Already have household contents insurance? Your existing policy might offer cover for accidental damage, fire or theft. However, you may find that an excess is payable and a claim may affect the cost of your subsequent insurance premiums.

Please note, for certain products the policy only provides accidental damage cover. For MP3 and MP4 Players, Headphones, Handheld Games Consoles, Camcorders, Cameras, Games Consoles, Wearable Tech and Mobile Phones under £50 if the product has a manufacturer's guarantee lasting 2 years or more, the policy will provide 2 years accidental damage cover. For General Electrical Products (such as Kettles, Fans, Irons, Microwaves, Console Controllers and other products), Set Top Boxes, DVD Players, Vacuum Cleaners, Sat Navs and TVs if the product has a manufacturer's guarantee lasting 3 years or more, the policy will provide 3 years accidental damage cover.
What's not included:
- Loss, theft, cosmetic and deliberate damage.
- The cost of replacing accessories (other than those originally provided with your product) or consumables.
Breakdown or accidental damage covered by another guarantee or warranty.
With Argos Replacement Care, there's no excess to pay! Your household contents insurance policy might offer cover for accidental damage, fire or theft. However, you may find that an excess is payable and a claim may affect the cost of your subsequent insurance premiums.
Still not quite sure if you want Argos Replacement Care? You've got 45 days from the date you buy your item to get that extra reassurance. Just pop into store, with your receipt and one of our friendly colleagues will be happy to help. You can buy it right-there-and-then and you'll be covered right away. Phew, that's a relief!
This insurance policy is designed to meet the demands and needs of those who wish to insure their electronic appliances household goods and/or mobile phones against accidental damage and breakdown.
Key exclusions are documented in the Insurance Product Information Document, which includes a summary of what is and what is not insured. Leaflets are also available at the bottom of this text and in Argos stores.
General information:

Your statutory rights will not be affected when you buy a policy. These include the right to claim a refund, repair, or replacement for up to six years (in Scotland it's up to five years after you became aware, or could with reasonable diligence have become aware there was a problem) if your electrical goods were not of satisfactory quality or fit for purpose when they were sold to you. After the first six months, you will have to prove that the goods had a fault when sold to you. For further information about your statutory rights contact the Citizens Advice Bureau: 03444 111 444.
You can buy a policy up to 45 days after buying your product. Any terms or offers, such as discounts and vouchers that are linked to the purchase of the policy will also remain available for 45 days from the date you purchase your product. The policy commences on the date it is purchased. Your policy will end after the duration specified on your receipt (unless ended in accordance with our terms and conditions). If we give you a replacement or vouchers for a replacement the policy will end immediately and no premium will be refunded. Your policy can be cancelled at any time. You will receive a full refund if you cancel within the 45 day cooling off period. After these 45 days, if you cancel your policy we will refund the premium paid for the remaining full months of your policy.
Policies may be available from other providers. You may also be covered under your household contents insurance or other policies that you may hold. Domestic & General Insurance PLC is covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme. If we cannot meet our obligations to you under the policy, compensation may be available to cover these obligations. The compensation provides for 90% of any claim with no upper limit on the amount of the claim.

I can advise the following for the 3yrs Accidental Damage Only Replacement Care:
Apologies, once it's been used this is then void. The 3 years will be provided if no claim is made, upon a claim being made the rest of the time left is voided. This doesn't affect the standard manufacturers guarantee if claimed within this period and is down to a manufacturing fault.
