Cheap alternative to Sky Q
Having gotten sick of constant price rises for Sky Q and having no tv aerial, it seemed a good way to get terrestrial channels without ever paying a monthly subscription ever again. Job done. The only downside is you have to access streaming channels like Netflix etc through your tv or wherever but iPlayer, All4 etc are built in. It will have paid for itself within 3 or 4 months.

Manhattan replacement for sky box
Brilliant, easy to use and paper manual to help. Have been using for only two days and up to now couldn’t be happier. Set up simple with old sky dish and cable. Plugged in and unit and tv talked to each other. Hardest bit was sinking handset so it could do sound on tv. Have recorded one program and that was easy. Good value for money.

2 year guarantee, excellent features, easy set up.
Bought to replace FreeView/Sat brand, which only lasted a month beyond it's 1 year guarantee, 2nd one of those to fail. I already have a Manhattan Freeview to connect thru an aerial and I'm very happy with that, so Manhattan Freesat with 2 years guarantee no brainer. It was easier to set up than other brand too!

its ok
I bought this to replace my Sky Q box. The picture quality is great and the recording function is just what I wanted. Unfortunately the system is slow to react and the remote controls working range is very poor. It does a good job of recording, though its not a patch on the sky Q box.

Easy to setup
The Transaction with Argos was seamless, picking the item up at my local store. The product was very easy to setup. Just attach the satellite cables, network cable and power cable. Switch on and follow the prompts to set it up. The box is a lot smaller than the SKY Q box it replaced.

Great TV box - Sky Q Blaster!
At last a real alternative to Sky Q - with no monthly subscriptions! Just bought the new Manhattan S4-R Freesat TV recorder box at Argos. Really pleased with the whole package...full freesat (over 150 channels) live TV content with most in HD...also number of apps such as YouTube plus catch up and on demand via the TV guide which looks back and forwards 7 days for catch up and recordings. (single programmes and series link recordings). Just plugged in the 2 satellite cables from my old Sky Q box and it was up and running in 5 mins to set up with the on screen prompts. Almost identical to Sky Q interface in terms of user interface, recordings, pause, ffwd, TV guide, reminders, etc... I got the 500gb box which is the cheapest at £219.00 - gives upto 300 hours of recording which is more than enough for me.... Can record upto 4 programmes while watching another! It's effectively Sky Q but without the sky channels (albeit you get sky mix and sky news for free!) and the hideous monthly fees! So if you're worried about leaving sky because of the sky Q benefits and convenience of recording etc.....worry no more - this is as close as it gets. Quite impressed with the overall experience - easy to set up and use (very familiar to sky Q) and is fairly snappy with excellent picture quality in HD. I believe this box has only recently became available and was released a couple of weeks ago.... Would definitely recommend.

Pays for itself within a few months.
Great replacement for Sky satellite system, which Sky are no longer offering, this enables record/pause/rewind of live tv with NO ongoing charge - and in 4k too! Easy set up - just swap over from the sky box, the Manhattan automatically tunes into the available Freesat channels. Highly recommended for live tv and with a much better signal where I live than Freeview over an ariel (and the only option if you like to record programs and fast forward any adverts).

Hello Daps,
After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the Manhattan S4-R 500GB Freesat 4K TV Recorder: ''Unfortunately, we don't currently support Netflix and have no plans to include it in the future. Our focus is on providing a contract-free experience with the best of British telly, and we don't prioritise premium subscription services like Netflix.''
Thank you for using Q and A.
I dont think that you can watch Netflix on the S4-R
You cannot. Make sure you have a smart TV
I had Humax Satellite and Freeview boxes which suffered from that problem many years ago. Humax support helpfully led me through the process to link each remote to the respective boxes....Maybe Manhatan remotes can be similarly programmed ?
You can program the Manhattan Freesat remote with up to nine different remote control codes.
