Volume can go up to 8 times louder than our standard cordless phones. With an Amplify key and dedicated up/down volume keys, you can adjust the call volume while talking.

Panasonic KX-TGU4 Cordless Phone
Brought this a couple of weeks ago to replace a very old land line phone. It is primarily used by my mother in law who is visually impaired. The numbers on the dial are easily read and it is very easy to set up. The answer phone works well but you may want to switch off the automated message that plays when someone is ringing you. That said for a person who is completely blind this is an excellent function to inform them who is ringing

Great if you still have a landline connection
It looks like it would have been a really good phone except I could get it to connect to our digital line. We have a phone that was also a dedicated landline phone and that works but this wouldn't. I tried everything and eventually had to return.

Good phone for the price point
I bought for my mother as it seemed to be described as having good volume, and also had the speaker. All feedback has been very positive. Handy torch, as well as useful flashing when ringing. Easy to connect, and it even highlighted a problem with the cable for me, so I replaced that. Buttons are easy to see and press, so good for dark hallways and the less well sighted; good accessibility.
