Enjoyable,captivating and impressive build.
Firstly, this was an enjoyable set to build. While I’m not usually a fan of the Ninjago line of LEGO, nor do I really gravitate towards the more “figurine” or “display” models, I have to admit this was engaging to construct. It was satisfying to see it grow into its final, very substantial, size and was certainly a good mix of challenge and reward throughout the process. There were 11 numbered bags, with each one taking me between 6 minutes (bag 7) and 20 minutes (bag 11) to finish, with a total time of 2 ½ hours. This was an excellent pace at which to build, as no section felt boring or repetitive, nor did it feel like it was completed too quickly. At each step, the model also felt very secure, which was especially impressive by the end given the size and posture of the dragon. Throughout the build, there were lots of little details that really highlighted the beauty of the set: the cracks in the rockwork, the trickling waterfalls ((see images below)), and the way the claws posed to grip onto the mountain below, to name but a few examples. The wings were also a highlight – I was afraid it would be a fiddly step trying to join the fabric onto the plastic pieces, but it was a perfect fit and no trouble at all. There was only one stage where I felt the effects of fiddly-ness, whereby pins were inserted via the inner side of a closed shape ((see image below)). A bit of manipulation and all was well, but I imagine that anyone with larger fingers than I might struggle with this early step of the process. As per the standard of LEGO, the instructions were clear and accurate. Some sections required careful study to ensure the right pieces were used and put in the correct place, but this all added to the challenge. There was only one instance where it was a little difficult to follow, owing to the colours used in the booklet – the shade of dark brown made it hard to see that there was a hole in the required piece. However, given that there was only one type of brown brick available at this step, it was obvious which piece it was asking for. I would nonetheless suggest that better colouring is considered in future to prevent any confusion in sets that do have similar bricks of this colour. With regards to the pieces, I was pleased to see that they all arrived in the more eco-sustainable paper bags instead of the plastic ones. I was unfortunately missing one small part though, meaning that I couldn’t attach the dragon’s right thumb/claw. Having been used to this newer style of bag, and knowing their tendency to trap pieces in the corners, I thoroughly searched the bags for the part but to no avail. I checked later bags too, in case it had been packaged into the wrong one, but still no luck. After searching the table, floor and even around the current build, I was forced to conclude it was missing. (I am sure that I can find a suitable replacement part easily enough though) A few other pieces in the set were stickered which, while neat and fitting with the design, I feel could’ve been printed parts to add to the grandeur. This is a very minor quibble though. The overall design of the model was very good: beautiful rockwork and water features, supporting a dynamic dragon, with imposing wings, posable arms, neck and tail, and a magnificent size – perfect for a display piece. If anything, the head was just a bit on the small side for me, but this is personal taste and I’m sure to others it would be fine. The accompanying poster in the box was a welcome addition and helped make the set feel a bit more special. The age range of 14+ feels accurate. As said, each step of the build was challenging but not difficult or frustrating, and a builder of that age range would certainly feel a sense of accomplishment as they work their way through this set. Some very clever construction methods were used, which are sure to keep most builders engaged with the model. It was clear when they had been done correctly as the stability of everything increased, and any “bare bones” were covered up neatly. In conclusion, a very enjoyable, captivating, and impressive building process, with a final model that is equal on all accounts. Beautiful and striking in size and design. Definitely recommended for those who are a fan of Ninjago or dragons in general, but who are looking for a moderately challenging build, and more of a display piece over a toy to play with.

Another great build from Lego
Amazing quality build as expected from Lego, the age range is definitely correct as it’s fiddly and delicate in some parts. It was built as soon as we received it and is now pride of place on a shelf.

A stunning display piece.
This display piece stands just under 50cm and the intricate details look great. We particularly loved how the tail wraps around the base. Building this 1650 piece set was no tranquil walk in the park hence the 14 and up age recommendation normally I build Lego with my son however he found this challenging so it gave me the chance to do it myself. The dragon is poseable with articulated head, arms and scales. It has large impressive printed material wings and articulated spiked tail. The dragon is designed to perch on its detailed display stand that includes a tranquil pond, a floating magical sword, lanterns, and a gate, for the included Master Wu mini-figure to explore. Perfect for allowing your imagination to drift away and relax rewarding your hard work. This Guardian Dragon set offers a rewarding building experience creating a stunning display piece showcasing this beast.

Awesome build!
My first Ninjago set that I’ve built, I was honestly really impressed how fun the build was. Once finished the final display looks mega! Really really cool build 👌

A must for a Ninjago fan!
An amazing large set that doesn't loose the small details Some incredible details including, a floating sword, a flowing river and a memorial. We love the fact the dragon is posable and you can remove from the rock so you can still play with the set. The set feels sturdy and can be posed in many positions. Great set and good value for money 100% recommended.

Lego Ninjago Dragon
It's My favourite item yet from Argos Testers. Its a really good size. I love it. It kept me busy for a while. I can now add it to the rest of my lego characters. Hope that Argos Testers do more lego in the future.

Huge Lego model
This Lego model is huge! It has 1650 pieces and took my son about 6 hours to build. There were lots of intricate parts but the instructions were easy to follow. As always with Lego it is very well made and sturdy, we have moved it around and it hasn't collapsed. It comes with a Master Wu Mini figure and a scenic rock-effect display stand. I would say the age of 14+ is accurate as it has lots of small parts.

Awesome showpiece Dragon, but tricky build
This build from the NINJAGO series requires patience and time, but the resulting dragon is awesome. There is so much detail. Lego is now using its sustainable packaging. There are eleven paper bags inside the box with a very thick instruction manual. There is also a free poster. I would say each bag took about half an hour, so this was built in stages. You do need to focus, as there are lots of little pieces. The only mini figure is Master Wu. Despite the dimensions of the Guardian Dragon written on the box, I was still unprepared for how big it is! The dragon has posable claws, tail, spikes and mouth. It has an impressive wingspan and the fabric for the wings are floaty. I know this set is more for display, but it would be nice if it could be taken off its stand for play. Overall a fantastic set and showpiece dragon.

My opinion
The set overall is really good but it needs some way to be played with but with some adjustments it would be really easy. The building technics were absolutely amazing and how the finished set is just majestic.
