Vacuum is good but miss having a hard copy of the guidelines on how to use. If you are not tech savvy dealing with apps and passwords are so difficult that I give up

Not reliable vacuum…

We purchased a new Dyson V16 on 7 April 2026. The online purchase experience was good, and delivery was smooth. Unfortunately, once we actually started using the vacuum cleaner, the experience quickly went downhill. First of all, the vacuum feels quite heavy. The build quality is acceptable, but it does not feel as solid or premium as earlier Dyson models. The “one for all floor” head design is disappointing — the front is not square, so it cannot clean properly edge-to-edge. It also constantly loses the ability to correctly detect carpet and hard floor surfaces. Overall, the head feels bulky, clumsy, and poorly designed. Battery performance is another major issue. From a full charge, the battery ran down in the middle of cleaning a standard two-bedroom house. Then it takes around 3–4 hours to recharge, which makes the vacuum unreliable for normal household cleaning. What shocked me most is that on only the second cleaning session, the vacuum displayed an “airflow blocked” message. I completely disassembled and checked everything carefully and found no blockage at all. I even washed the dust container and filter, and now I have to wait an entire day for them to dry before I can even check the message is gone and I even can use the vacuum again. This is simply nonsense for a brand-new premium product. In my opinion, this vacuum is not fit for purpose. After reading other customer reviews, I can now see many people experienced exactly the same problems. Unfortunately, the negative reviews turned out to be completely accurate. I genuinely cannot believe these issues appeared after only the second use within first month of purchase. Ignoring the negative reviews was clearly a mistake. There is no surprise this model has such a low star rating. I will now be contacting Dyson regarding a return.

Suction is poor at low level. The fluorescent light triggers my OCD. My previous Dyson stick was better V10. The curved floorhead on V16 is not practical. I rate it 6/10.

Heavy to use

I bought this vacuum cleaner 2 weeks ago. I’m finding it hard to manoeuvre, the motor is very heavy making it hard to use for a whole room and the brush head is very small, meaning it takes a long time to completely vacuum one room, as you have to go back and forth so much. The green light is useful to detect the dog hair, but as they follow me round the room, shedding more hair , I’ve turned the light off, otherwise I would be vacuuming for ever. The battery life is good, but I need the highest setting of power on my concrete floors, otherwise it’s not picking up all the dog hair, so I’m about to purchase a second battery. It does clean right up to the edge, and emptying the vacuum is easy

The V16, quick and simple to use.

A simple to use and effective vacuum cleaner. Very easy to get up running and registered with the Dyson App. The V16 piston has 3 modes, even in the normal mode it has plenty of charge left after a good clean. It almost makes house cleaning a joy, depending on how much you like house cleaning.

Best Dyson I’ve owned

Bought my new Dyson nearly 3 weeks ago great suction power best one I’ve had and I’ve had quite a few Although keeps saying full but it isn’t so I just ignore it Only problem I’ve had is detaching the pipe from the body to empty bin so I put a bit of wd40 on the small rubber seal which worked a treat now detaches easy Bit to heavy for the elderly but I’m fine with it

Brilliant as usual

I have had Dyson cordless vacuums for many years I usually pass them on to granddaughters as I find they hardly ever stop working and it’s my pleasure to have a new one The latest is incredible brilliant suction, quite quiet I like the fact I have connection to Wi-Fi and I have support from Dyson however I would have liked the extra tools to have been on the vacuum itself like my older one, I am in my late 70s and find myself searching for the little tools apart from that it’s brilliant easy to carry up the stairs

Lighter Weight

I have other Dyson stick hoovers. This one seems to be lighter in weight and works just as well. The only downside is that when removing the hand held unit, I find it difficult to release the button from the stick

Battery needs to be longer and pushing the rubbish down is good then getting to the top is tough
