Still trying to set it up.
Nightmare to set up. Keeps asking for passwords. Took 45 mins to navigate my way to a free to view live program whereas before I just hit a number. I am going to go back and start again using same password for everything. Why do I even need them? This is not personal data and I have not paid a subscription. Would go back to old Humax except that ITV no longer supports it. Not happy. Not in a position to review other features.

Destroyed my belief in Humax as a brand.
I've been a loyal Humax customer for well over a decade, so I approached this purchase with genuine optimism. The FHR-6000T looked promising on paper: four simultaneous recording tuners, Freely integration, and a modern interface. In practice, however, it falls some way short of what you'd expect from a brand with Humax's pedigree -- and at £249, the shortcomings sting. Software instability is the dominant theme. Multiple factory resets are not an unusual occurrence for owners of this box; they appear to be a near-inevitable part of the experience. Firmware updates that wipe your settings mid-setup, screens that freeze without warning, recordings that produce nothing but a blank screen, and a box that occasionally refuses to switch on at all -- these are the kinds of issues you'd tolerate in a beta product, not a £249 retail release. The interface adds to the frustration. Recording and the Freely guide operate as two separate, disconnected systems, which makes scheduling anything more awkward than it needs to be. The recording system is awfully basic and clunky. Series linking -- a staple of PVR functionality for years -- doesn't work reliably, and the channel edit option, which might at least help tame the 260-channel Freely lineup, is reportedly disabled entirely. The promised companion app, which the manual describes as part of the core experience, has not been released at time of writing. Humax's older PVR models set a high bar. This one doesn't clear it. The hardware may well be capable, but the software is simply not ready for a retail launch. Until Humax delivers meaningful firmware updates and releases the app they've been promising, I'd strongly suggest holding off on this one and sticking with a tried-and-tested alternative. I've returned mine.

Humax freely
Bought this thinking it was the new humax recordable Freesat, its just basically freeview that records, most tvs now come with freeview, overpriced for what it is tbh, never used it as not what I wanted, bought it originally to upgrade my old humax Freesat

Waste of money and time
In the 2 weeks we've had it I've done 2 factory resets. It does not record a series of programmes, you cannot search by name to find a programme to record and the Freely app means we have 260 channels to scroll through. And although it has an edit channel option this is not enabled-the helpline confirmed this functionality does not work. We've always had Humax boxes but never again. The features make it much harder to use than previous versions. Do not buy.

Hello Bucky.
The supplier has confirmed. The Humax FHR-6000T 2TB Freely set-top box does not require an internet connection for basic use. It allows you to enjoy live TV and access catch-up services without an aerial or satellite dish, making it ideal for households across the country. However, regular aerial connection is necessary for recording Freeview channels.
