Awful design
The worse one cup kettle I have ever brought. Constantly needed descaling & got so bad I’ve gone back to a normal kettle for the first time in years. Will not be buying swan again

Good product
It seems slower to boil the water than the equivalent Breville one that I had before but other than that, it is a good product. Bought to help family member who had an operation and is not allowed to lift a heavy kettle full of water to make tea or coffee. Stable on the worktop and does what it says - boils water and dispenses it one cup at a time in safety without risk of dropping boiling water on themselves. Reservoir capacity should be big enough to allow a person to make sufficient hot drinkls during the day without attempting to refill it. Being in a hard water area, descaling these products is a big pain and has to be done very regularly. I've not yet had a go with this one but hope that it is not going to prove too difficult - but who really loves the smell of boiled vinegar?

Happy with this hot water dispenser, only boils one cup at a time unlike a kettle which would use more electricity. There are other makes out there with a larger capacity but this is ideal for my use.

Bought back in February 2026, it was ok at first. All though didn't fill a UK mug. March 27th barely month later l am returning due to the cup capacity has dwindled to a mere 150ml. Not the best start so now back to drawing in choosing something that is able to pour full mug

After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the Swan SWD1004 Instant Hot Water Dispenser - Black: Its 27cm as it’s the width of the dispenser, once the flap is opened it reduces to 25cm inside.
