About this product
The Winchester Console Table keeps hallways, lounges and bedrooms organised with a drawer and two shelves for everyday storage. It's a narrow design that fits into tight spaces without blocking pathways, giving you somewhere to drop keys, post and bags when you walk in. The drawer glides smoothly on metal runners, keeping smaller items like phone chargers, pens or sunglasses out of sight. Two open shelves underneath let you store shoes, baskets or books at easy reach. The soft white finish with oak-effect top and shelves blends with relaxed interiors.
Solid wood handles co-ordinate with the oak-effect surfaces and feel comfortable to grip. The thick profiled top with softly rounded edges stands up to daily knocks and bumps. The narrow depth means it won't dominate tight hallways or squeeze past furniture in compact rooms. Maximum load capacity of 20kg across the top and shelves, so you can store everyday essentials safely. Self-assembly with clear instructions, one person recommended. Not the easiest to assemble!
Found it quite difficult to assemble but expected to be fair. Really heavy but great quality. There were also 2 small chips on the furniture which I wasn’t happy about but I kept it anyway as I already unboxed it all and didn’t want the hassle of having to box and return.

Aesthetics v practicality
The product looks very nice once assembled but unless your good at DIY I couldn't recommend it. The instruction are poor, if it had not been for the fact the colours suited our colour scheme I would have return the product.

Nice neat piece of furniture
I bought this a few weeks ago and was happy with how it went together. I managed to do it by myself but agree that there were it a couple of times when it would have been easier with a 2nd pair of hands

"The bottom of the shelf is 140mm from the floor. The bottom of the rail is 81mm from the floor."

After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the Argos Home Winchester 1 Drawer Console Table - Cream: If the drawer is omitted, it will expose numerous construction fittings for the table which would normally be hidden by the drawer.
