Send wifi signal through an outside wall
Easy to install and set up and it did what I wanted it to do, ie get a weak wifi signal in the house to reliably talk to a security camera on the other side of an outside wall (very hit & miss without the extender).

Excellent replacement
Purchased this item to replace an existing WiFi extender. Needed a more reliable device to ensure I have full coverage with a stronger WiFi signal. Relatively easy to connect and set up, just need to be a little patient but all working really well and the WiFi now seems to be of a hi speed and provide a strong and reliable connection.

Brilliant purchase
Really pleased with this purchase. It’s really boosted the speed of my laptop compared to my previous booster (non mesh) setup. If it worked any faster it would be doing my work for me. Wish I’d got this ages ago.

Not a bad extender for the price.
I brought this as a replacement for my older wireless extender. Pros : Looks good, can turn off LED indicators to save energy, coverage is pretty good, faster connectivity for the Xbox. Cons: Annoying to set up, tried the WPS method, only 5ghz led showing on the device. Tried the app, equally no help, tried browser login but eventually settled on the all knowing internet to advise me it is probably broadcasting 2.4ghz and 5ghz but the extender is only showing me 5ghz. I'm none the wiser but everything is working now I've linked it all up again.

Hi,
The RE705X supports EasyMesh. If your hub also supports EasyMesh, you can set up EasyMesh between the two devices. This way, your phone won't need to manually switch.
Alternatively, you can try setting your RE705X extender to use the same Wi-Fi name (SSID) as your router. Your phone should automatically connect to the device with the better signal, without needing to manually switch.
Thanks for using Q&A.
Hi,
If the Range Extender uses the same name as the router, the client will automatically connect to a device with a better signal. There is no need to change the Wi-Fi name of the Range Extender.
Thanks for using Q&A.
Hi Tom,
Yes, you can absolutely change the Wi‑Fi network/provider with the TP-Link RE705X AX3000 Mesh Wi-Fi 6 Extender.
Thank you for using Q & A.
Hello Jay,
TP-Link RE705X AX3000 Mesh Wi-Fi 6 Extender
Yes, it can work with a Starlink router, but setup may require a wired connection or proper pairing.
Thank you for using Q&A.
Hi,
To ensure perfect performance, it is recommended that the distance between the router and the Range Extender be limited to 8 meters, and the distance between the Range Extender and the end device be approximately 8 meters.
Thanks for using Q&A.
Hi,
During setup, please place the extender in the same room as your router and plug it into a power socket to configure it. Once the setup is complete, you can move the extender to a another location. After moving it, check the extender’s status light to confirm it’s connected to the router again.
Thanks for using Q&A.
Hello there. The TP-Link RE705X AX3000 Mesh Wi-Fi 6 Extender will work with Talk Talk. Thanks for using Q and A.
Hi,
Yes, this is possible if your Range Extender has an Ethernet port and supports Access Point mode. By default, the extender's Ethernet port is used to connect LAN devices like computers or TVs. However, to use it as an input from your Starlink mini, you'll need to switch the extender to Access Point mode.
Here's how to set it up:
Method One: Via the Tether APP
1. Connect your phone to the extender's Wi-Fi and launch the Tether app. If you haven't configured the extender yet, complete the on-screen setup instructions first.
2. Go to More > Advanced > Operation Mode (or Tools > Operation Mode), select Access Point mode, and save settings. The extender will reboot.
3. After the reboot, go to More > Wi-Fi Settings (or Tools > Wireless) to customize its Wi-Fi name and password.
Method Two: Via the web management interface
1. Connect your PC/Phone to the extender's Wi-Fi and access http://tplinkrepeater.net... via browser.
2. Click Mode (top-right) > switch to Access Point. The extender will reboot.
3. After the reboot, navigate to Settings > Wireless > Wireless Settings to customize the Wi-Fi name and password.
Once in Access Point mode, connect the Starlink Ethernet cable to the extender's Ethernet port. The extender will broadcast Wi-Fi, and you can also connect your Fire Stick via Ethernet if your extender model has multiple Ethernet ports, or via Wi-Fi if it has only one port.
Thanks for using Q&A.
Hello Micky,
The supplier has advised the following for the TP-Link RE705X AX3000 Mesh Wi-Fi 6 Extender:
"The RE705X supports Access Point Mode, which allows you to connect the extender to your existing wired Ethernet network. In this mode, the RE705X will create a new Wi-Fi network using the Ethernet connection, effectively extending your wired network to wireless devices."
Thank you for using Q&A.
Hello Makky,

I hope this helps.
Thank you for using Q & A.
