Smart and maintenance free
Replaced a rotting wooden picnic bench, so bought 2. Straightforward instructions and when followed the 2 benches were an easy build. Much quicker on the 2nd than 1st, if it didn’t fit easily then it was due to us getting it wrong! They look very smart and convert from bench to table easily. The main parts are quite weighty and needed 2 of us to complete the build.

Started having problems after a few uses
Only built it acouple of weeks ago, and at first was really good, but after a few uses, the back rest is now sloppy, so everytime you sit on the thing the back rest part moves, which is really annoying, it seems that the bolt/ bolt hole is the problem

Pretty good bench
It's not really a 2 man job, but does make it slightly easier. Impossible to order a suitable bench cover for beware when ordering, the depth of this is much more than standard so check you measurements. So so much cheaper on amazon, but i had Nectar points to use and there was 20% off in a sale, so worth it

Bench is nice, measurements on Argos website wrong
One star just to indicate that the item description is wrong and Argos won't correct it. Be sure to check the dimensions on the Lifetime website. Argos and other retailers seem to only be including the dimensions for the seat and completely miss the deal 'depth' of the bench. The depth mentioned is the actual width/length of the table area, from side to side. The true depth from front to back is 86cm, a dimension not listed anywhere. As of 23/09/23 Argos have not corrected this. I was offered a return but had to take it all apart and package it back up; something which was impossible due to the weight and packaging of the item. So I've had to alter the part of the garden that this was intended for to make it fit. It is a nice bench, probably worth at least 4 stars, but just check the dimensions before purchasing it.

Great piece
First found this on Amazon but there were no deliveries. Other customers in the reviews pointed me to Argos and I’m glad I found it. I bought two for the fuller table effect and use one in the house for the children to eat on and do their homework on, but we bring the other table in or take the inside one outdoors depending on where it is needed. Easily converted from park bench mode to garden bench mode, with the release of a level using just one hand on either side. Best garden furniture I ever purchased!

Hello KeithD,
The supplier has advised the following for the Lifetime 2 Seater Convertible Plastic Garden Bench:
This has no plastic feet on, the base of the unit is flat and this just rests on the floor.
I hope this helps.
Thank you for using Q&A.

Due to the tilting mechanism of the top section, it would not be safe to sit on and is not designed for this.
Thanks for using Q&A,
Hello Gina,
I have spoken to our supplier who have advised as follows:
The Lifetime Plastic 2 Seater Convertible Garden Bench seat top back is 90cm high in bench mode (seat 48cm high).
I hope this helps.
Thank you for using Q&A.
Hi there
Our supplier says No it’s not. It’s HDPE only
Thanks for using Q & A
The steel frame has a powder-coated, rust-resistant finish to ensure that your bench will last for years. 13 months is not years and definitely not stainless steel as advertised.
13 months old rust all over one leg - not rust resistant and not stainless steel.
Hi,
Thanks for your query about the Lifetime Plastic 2 Seater Convertible Bench.
The steel frame has a powder-coated, rust-resistant finish and, as long as you use it correctly and as intended, there's no reason it shouldn't offer suitable protection. It can be left outside all year round but you do need to use a protective cover when not in use. We do not offer an anti-rust guarantee on the product.
Hi Gemma.
Two of the Lifetime Plastic 2 Seater Convertible Bench to form a fully sized picnic table do not connect and secure together. The 2 benches/half tables would just need to be pushed together.
Thank you for using Q&A.
