I just bought this because I could not find the one I bought last year. It will staple into pine. The handle requires a lot of strength to operate even on the lowest setting.

Bought this to try and staple some solar Led lights to the wooden exterior of our summerhouse but unfortunately it wasn’t up to the job. Even on full power the staples won’t go I to wood.

Yes, this product can be used to staple a stair runner to wooden stairs. They recommend to please ensure that the stair runner's thickness is no more than 10mm. They advise that 8mm staples would probably be OK. This would depend on the runner and the stairs too so we cannot be exact.
