Easy Set Up
Fairly easy to set up and pair to chime. Have had a couple of weeks and battery useage seems very good. Now paired to Echo Dot speaker as well. Particularly like the ability to set dfetection zones as we are close to the road and are able to cut out detection of passers by & traffic. Have yet to install micro SD card but like the ability to record without cloud subscription.

Excellent Video Doorbell
This is exactly what we wanted for an excellent price. The video quality is very clear and the battery life is still sitting at 79% after 2 weeks and that includes a heavy period when setting it up on the first day. It takes a bit of getting used to the settings and tweaking to suit our needs but once it's set the coverage and quality of the recording are excellent. The doorbell itself is great quality and it gives us peace of mind if we are out or if someone we do not know comes to the door, which is why we decided to get a video doorbell after a dodgy bloke rang the older doorbell. He was later picked up by the police. So excellent product, great video quality (with sound) and local storage (I fitted a 128GB micro SD card). Just what we needed.

Hi, Thanks for the question.
The Tapo D210 Doorbell is a wireless video doorbell only. It is a battery-powered device meaning It cannot be connected to traditional mains doorbell wiring and requires manual charging via USB-C every 36 months. It operates using 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi.
The device has a convinient doorbell chime included in the box which you can plug in anywhere in your property and can be paired with the doorbell through the Tp-Link TAPO app.
Thanks,
Rhys.
Hi Darren,
The Tapo D210 Doorbell does have a built in anti-theft alarm available to turn on through the tp-link Tapo app.
To turn on the anti-theft alarm on the Tapo D210 doorbell, use the Tapo app go to Device Settings Alarm and enable the Anti-theft Alarm toggle. When active, if the doorbell is removed from its mounting bracket, it will trigger an audible alarm.
Hi Darren,
Yes, the Tapo D210 has an anti-theft alarm function.
Thanks for using Q&A.
Hi,
Generally, it takes about seven hours.
Thanks for using Q&A.
Hi Shoe,
It requires a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi connection during setup.
Without WiFi:
• The doorbell will appear offline in the Tapo app, and live view and settings will be unavailable.
• However, pre-configured wired doorbells can continue recording to an SD card even without Wi-Fi. To set this up:
1. Configure the doorbell and insert an SD card
2. Enable 24-hour recording (if supported) under Settings > Storage & Recording
3. Relocate the doorbell to an area without Wi-Fi
4. Power it on—recording continues automatically
5. To view recordings, remove the SD card and use an SD reader on a computer, or reconnect the doorbell to Wi-Fi and check via the Tapo app's playback page
Thanks for using Q&A.
Hi,
You can use an SD card or subscribe to a cloud service to record videos. The doorbell also supports Talk and 2-way audio.
Thanks for using Q&A.
Hi,
The microSD card is not included in the package. Meanwhile, we do not sell microSD cards. You need to purchase it by yourself.
Here are some helpful tips when selecting a suitable SD card for your reference: https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/3048/...
If you don't want to use an SD card, you can also subscribe to cloud services.
Thanks for using Q&A.

Thank you for using Q&A.
Hello there.
The Tapo D210 requires a 2.4G WiFi connection. The package includes a USB adapter cable and a doorbell detaching pin, making it easy to remove the doorbell from the bracket for charging.
Thanks for using Q&A.
Hello there,
After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the Tapo D210 2K 3MP Video Doorbell with Chime: The SD card on your Tapo D210 can record both scenarios, depending on how you configure the settings. Here's how it works:
To record doorbell video to a microSD card, insert the card into the doorbell and go to Device Settings > Storage & Recording to configure:
1. Enable the Local Recording feature
2. Enable Loop Recording (recommended) on the Local Storage page
3. Go to Recording Schedule to set your recording preferences. You can choose:
• "Detection Recording" • This will record when motion is detected in your set activation zone OR when the doorbell button is pressed
• "Don't Record" • For times when you don't want any recording
4. Enable Record Sound if you want audio included
Important note: The Tapo D210 is a battery-powered doorbell, so it does NOT support "Continuous Recording" (24/7 recording).
Additionally, in the Detection > Wake-up settings > Wake-up when section, you can select either "Event Detected" or "Doorbell pressed".
So your SD card will record both when someone presses the doorbell AND when motion is detected in your activation zone, as long as Detection Recording is enabled in your recording schedule.
Thank you for using Q&A
