About this product
Multi-pet households often face the problem of food stealing, whether it is a greedy dog snatching the cat's dinner or one pet eating special prescription food meant for another. This SureFeed Microchip Pet Feeder reads your pet's microchip as they approach and opens the lid only for the registered animal before closing again when they move away. Suitable for small, medium and large cats plus small dogs, the white plastic construction fits into most feeding areas.
The microchip recognition prevents overfeeding without constant supervision, which matters if one pet needs portion control or a restricted diet. The automatic lid stops children and other pets from accessing food between mealtimes, so prescription diets stay protected. The feeder measures H21, W23, D31cm to hold a decent portion size. Battery operated using C type batteries means flexible placement anywhere in your home without trailing cables.

Greedy cat problem solver
Bought 2 feeders about a week ago . Pairing the cats to the devices was easy enough. Cat 1. got the hang within 5mins & no training mode , cat 2. within 24hrs with training mode. Its easy to use & clean and does a good job. One feeder is slightly noisier but creatures have adapted well. Units & extra bowls are a bit pricey but worth it . Time will tell as to reliability . Also the instructions say not designed for rechargeable batteries but mine works just fine. Overall very pleased.

Genius device!
Love it! Whoever thought of this is an absolute genious. I have two cats- a year old one and a fat one, who is eating everything he can get his paws on. I had to put kittens food up on the kitchen counter so the fat one can't get to it. This feeder is total game changer- kittens food is safe. Just placed feeder on the floor. Kitten got used to feeder instantly so I'm happy with that. So funny to watch the older cat trying to get to the food. Looking all puzzled :) But the lid is strong so no chance there. He is looking at the kiten in disbelieve probably thinking little one got some magic ninja skills. I have registered feeder to kittens chip as he does not like wearing collars. It is good that there is double tray provided, as I can leave wet and dry food at the same time. It provides 3 year warranty just need register online. Done that. Deffinetely recomend, whish I've bought it sooneer. Helps if one has a greedy cat :)

Cat
Easy to use
Very easy to set up, just have to convince your cat to get close enough to register the chip. Training mode was very helpful. Our cats have gone from nervous to using the bowls all the time without encouragememt in about a week. So easy to manage the cats diet. Wish we had bought them years ago

Fantastic feeder
Wish I'd bought this years ago! We have 2 cats and now 1 of them is on a special food this feeder is fantastic as she's changed to being a bit of a snacker! Good bowl size and feeder easy to use, especially the microchip setting as you won't need the chip number for cat to access. Easy to read instructions and our cat now feeds confidently knowing her brother can't access the food!

Pet Feeder Outsmarted by Siamese Cats
I really wanted to love the SureFeed microchip feeder. In theory, it’s a brilliant solution for multi-cat households where each cat needs a specialised diet. The build quality feels solid, setup was straightforward, and the microchip recognition worked exactly as described. However, in practice, it hasn’t worked for my two very determined Siamese cats. Despite buying two separate units so each cat could access only their own food, they quickly figured out how to open each other’s feeders. One cat simply approaches while the other is eating, and the lid opens because the authorised cat is still in range. Within days, they were effectively tag-teaming the system and accessing food they’re not supposed to have. For a device at this price point (and buying two is a serious investment), I expected it to be more robust against exactly this scenario. If you have clever, food-motivated cats, particularly intelligent breeds like Siamese, be aware that the system relies heavily on behavioural compliance. It doesn’t physically prevent another cat from pushing in once the lid is open. To be fair, it may work well for calmer households or cats who respect personal space. But if you’re buying this specifically to enforce strict dietary separation between highly motivated cats, it may not be foolproof. Great concept. Excellent for some households. Outsmarted in mine.

Great chip-operated cat feeder. Used for several y
Bought this chip-operated cat feeder when the old one conked out and a subsequent online delivery failed to materialise. Quality item, if a little expensive, but it’s the only thing that stops one of my cats stealing from the other. Easy to clean, and the battery life is good (not supplied). I bought direct from supplier initially so that Cats Protection would benefit from the discounted price but delivery company’s failure to deliver meant I ended upa premium going to Argos who supplied a replacement feeder the day before my holiday. I was happy to pay more for reliability .

Hey Susie,
I can advise that this feeder requires 4 x C batteries.
Thanks for using Q&A.
Hello Sophie,
SureFeed Microchip Pet Feeder.
Yes, it is possible for two of your cats to eat at the same time from the bowl using the SureFeed Microchip Pet Feeder. The feeder is designed to open only when it detects the specific microchip of the cat it is programmed to feed. This means that if one cat's microchip is detected, the feeder will open, allowing that cat to eat from the bowl. However, if another cat's microchip is detected, the feeder will remain closed, preventing access to the bowl. This ensures that each cat can eat from their designated bowl without interference from other cats.
Thank you.

Thank you for using Q&A
Hi Caroline,
SureFeed Microchip Pet Feeder
On checking I can see this comes with two bowls. One split and single bowl.
Thanks for using Q&A.
I have bought 2 and both came with 2 bowls. One full bowl and one split bowl. I also bought an additional split bowl set of 2.
Hi Mike,
The SureFeed Microchip Pet Feeder uses microchip sensors to recognize authorized pets, allowing only designated cats (or other pets) to access the food. If an unauthorized pet tries to eat from the bowl, the feeder lid remains closed, effectively keeping out mice, rats, and other animals.
Thank you for using Q&A
I’d say so. The rodent would have to get through solid plastic to get to the food.
Hello Mouse,
The supplier has advised the following for the SureFeed Microchip Pet Feeder:
The lid closing delay on the feeder will only affect the time that lid will close once the cat has left the feeder (there are 3 different settings). When an authorized cat is detected that cat will be able to eat from the feeder right away.
Thank you for using Q&A.
Many thanks for your question
Our plastic Feeder Bowls and Seal are BPA (bisphenol A) & DEHP (DI-Ethylhexyl Phthalate) Free
You can also purchase Stainless Steel Bowl Set for the SurePetcare website
You can use porcelain or C-ceramic bowl as long as they fit the feeder an allow the lid the fully close

Hi Sam,
After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the SureFeed Microchip Pet Feeder: We have not experienced this to be an issue. The size of the area where the pet will eat from is: 210mm (w) x 155mm (H).
Thank you for using Q & A.
Many thanks for your question,
Rechargeable batteries can not be used with SureFeed Microchip Pet Feeder or any of the Sure petcare products. We recommend good quality alkaline batteries.
