My first machine
I joined a craft club last year and everything we were doing was by hand, now at the start of this year we have moved on to more creative projects, so I was in need of a sewing machine. I looked at various ones and eventually decided on this one. I had heard of the name as other members had machines from the same company and all couldn’t fault them. As a beginner I must admit that I have found it so easy to use and the instructions for first setting it up are very clear and easy to follow. Everything is good quality and I wish I had got one sooner. I would recommend this machine to anyone interested in learning, or starting to sew, without any problem.

After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the Singer 1306 6 Built-In Stitches Sewing Machine - White: All of our machines can sew denim and thicker fabrics occasionally. What is important is to make sure you use the correct needle size and needle type for the fabric you are sewing. You may also need to use a different type of thread, increase the stitch length and turn the hand wheel manually for thicker seams.

"The machine can do tubular sewing once the accessory box/table is removed. The machine has very basic stitches such as straight, zigzag and blind hem for stretch fabrics – this may be suitable for some trouser alterations."

This machine does come with a darning plate for free motion quilting but you would need to purchase a free motion quilting foot separately.

Our supplier has advised that the Singer 1306 6 Built-In Stitches Sewing Machine - White does have a darning plate included for use with an optional extra embroidery foot for free motion quilting.
A walking foot can also be used with this machine to evenly feed the quilted layers through. Patchwork, piecing and quilting can be done on this machine but there are limitations if wanting to really explore this craft.
