Stunning picture, let down by the software!
The screen on this TV is absolutely phenomenal. The image quality is outstanding in every scenario I’ve tried so far. Streaming content from Netflix and Disney+ looks incredible, with deep blacks, rich colours and excellent brightness, and gaming on an Xbox Series X is on another level altogether. The immersion, contrast and smoothness really show what OLED is capable of. That said, the weak point is clearly the software. The user interface feels cramped, with text and menus that are too small, and overall responsiveness is a bit sluggish. It’s not terrible, but it’s noticeable, especially on a brand-new TV at this price point. My main concern is that performance may degrade over time as updates and apps pile up. In short: amazing hardware and picture quality, but the smart TV experience doesn’t quite live up to the panel itself. I’d still recommend it for the image alone, just don’t expect a lightning-fast UI.

Faster processor than my
Call me a whinger, but I was a tad disappointed with the sharpness of the new 55" screen, I had my previous Samsung curved screen SUHD TV for 9 years and it was good, the new TV has a much quicker processor an A.I. working in the background but I expected a startling difference in the sharpness, maybe I was being a tad over optimistic? However, maybe if I'd spent twice as much on the TV it would maybe have matched my expectations. Notwithstanding this it's a good upgrade

With “Hidden” Easter Eggs, a Great TV just Excels!
If you're looking for a TV with an “Edge”, then look no further than the Samsung QE48S93D. With a 48” OLED screen, the S93D does not disappoint! The resolution, vibrant colour and pure blacks do give this TV quite an edge. Set up of the S93D was simple and straight forward, from tuning in of Freeview Terrestrial Channels to the Wi-Fi set up. Free Streaming Apps installed were also easy to link to an existing Terrestrial Provider online account, Such as BBC, ITV etc, although, BBC iPlayer did cause a few headaches. So stick with this review and save yourself the headaches as I show you the solution for hassle free BBC iPlayer viewing on the S93D. The first time I launched the BBC iPlayer app on the S93D, I was met with “The Grey Screen of Death” which read, “Sorry, this application is not currently available on your device”. However, I am undaunted by such messages and so I began to look more closely at the Home Screen. In particular, I noticed an iPlayer clip from BBC News and so, being curious, I clicked on the clip.... and low and behold... I was met with the TV Code to link my S93D to my online BBC iPlayer account. Having entered the code online and then logged into my online BBC iPlayer account... the S93D was paired and the clip played perfectly. So I came out of the BBC iPlayer app and launched it again and sure enough it worked. BUT BEWARE!! - If you go to the TV Settings menu, Broadcasting, Expert Settings and HbbTV Settings, just make sure that both “Do Not Track” and “Private Browsing” are both turned off!! If these settings are turned on, then you will have to link your S93D to your BBC iPlayer online account every time you put the TV into standby or turn it off at the mains!! All of the other Terrestrial Channel apps, ITV X, Channel 4, Channel 5, U Stream, all work well and didn't forget the Link Code after the S93D was put into standby or turned off at the mains. This is also true of Samsung TV Plus, Plex TV and Pluto TV – Free Streaming Services. Great Player is also available but you do have to go to the Freeview Terrestrial Channel (63) for it to launch as there is currently no app on the home screen. With all this said, I have yet to tune in Freesat due to dish alignment issues on my part but I will update this review when that is done. One minor point that I would make is that if you are going to use a wall mount, or a Tabletop Swivel Stand (as I have), for this TV, the threads, for the bolts you will need, are very deep in the back of the casing of the S93D so be prepared to have to go shopping as most brackets do not come with long enough bolts supplied to achieve this task. Sadly, although Samsung state the size and length of bolts required for the VESA mount, these bolts are not supplied with the S93D, hence the overall rating of 4 stars!! Overall the QE48S93D is well worth the investment as, once you have taken care of the BBC iPlayer headache, explained within this review, your viewing pleasure should be boundless!!
