Long term review. It is good.
I purchased this six months ago and I am very happy with it. Some of the features are not immedietly obvious but it is worth playing around with the menu. The 18 day battery life, is a bit of a sales gimmick. Yes the display shows 18days when you purchase it, but batteries do have a life. At six months, it shows 16days after a charge, still respectable, but this is only an estimate and I still find that it exrends beyond that before going flat. (It is good to run the battery down before recharging, but not good to totally empty it). The only other point to make is that for live tracking, that is so that you transmit your live location to somebody (handy if you have an accident) is that it is only available by subscription. It is free (for the moment) on Strava but this is not Strava. However, you can download your info into Strava at the end of your exercise session.

I bought this Garmin a few weeks ago! I’m satisfied with it — the battery has lasted 3 weeks already since I bought it and I still haven’t charged it, so it might even last a full month! What I noticed as drawbacks: it has a short Bluetooth connection range, and in my case you can only pay with Revolut; Barclays doesn’t work since they don’t have a partnership! Other than that, it does exactly what a watch should do at a decent price! The battery is a huge plus in my opinion! It has plenty of sport/fitness features! I’ve taken showers with it, no problem at all, and I also bought a few extra straps for it! Overall, I’m satisfied — I’d give it 8 out of 10.

Fantastic watch with all the functionality I need
I purchased this watch to replace my Garmin Phoenix. I am very impressed with the features of the instinct 3. I love the added torch useful when walking the dog at night. The reports it produces is more indepth than the Phoenix and will be very useful for training.
