Below average for £500
For £500 headphones, these fail to meet even basic expectations. First, they can't be connected to my PS5, which is a major limitation at this price point. At the gym, l have to adjust them after every single set, and every time I do, I inevitably touch the buttons and mess up the volume, noise cancellation, or playback. The controls are simply too easy to trigger unintentionally. The noise cancellation is also very disappointing. Despite all the hype, I can hear almost everything around me, which makes them practically useless in noisy environments. To be fair, the sound quality is decent, and the build quality feels premium. However, that alone is nowhere near enough to justify the price. For the same £500, I could easily buy three or four excellent pairs of headphones, each tailored for specific use cases - working, gaming, gym, and casual outings - and still have money left. I'm a long-time Apple user and genuinely love their products, having owned many of their devices over the years. That's exactly why this was such a disappointment. The AirPods Max are, without question, the biggest letdown I've experienced from Apple so far. I returned them the same day.
