Give children their own creative project to design and make custom stickers. This Chad Valley Be U Make Your Own Stickers Machine builds confidence and artistic skills through hands-on design. Children develop fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination and self-expression as they create stickers for themselves or friends. It's designed for ages 6 and over and encourages both guided and open-ended play. They can follow templates or invent unique designs to decorate stationery, personalise their room or share their finished creations.
It includes a lamination machine, 2 rolls of clear laminate, 2 rolls of adhesive backing paper and 4 colour markers. It also includes a tape-feeding tool, 2 spools, a design sheet, a graphic template sheet and a paper press. Everything that's needed to start creating straight away is provided with step-by-step instructions. It should be used under adult supervision and it's for domestic use only. Once they've made their stickers, children feel proud of something they've designed and created themselves.

I bought a sticker maker for my 5 year old niece and one for my 7 year old nephew so that they didn’t fight over a single product. Both children are clever, active kids who are always on the go outdoors but they were both immediately engaged in using their sticker machine. Both children allowed me to assemble the machine itself but they were interested in how it was constructed in order to make their stickers and watched intently as I explained key points from the assembly instructions. Both children started with a pre coloured sticker and quickly moved onto colouring one from the black and white sheet. Feeding the sticker in to be laminated is quite fiddly but, once shown how to, the kids eased and repositioned their work as they understood the lamination that was to follow. My nephew explained turning the wheel ‘clockwise’ and we discussed what would happen if we accidentally turned the wrong way. Both children used scissors to cut the sticker roll and cut out their stickers; I encouraged them to prepare the next one instead of waiting for the scissors. We problem solved when we over trimmed and fed the sticker back in. We observed this waste and the waste between each sticker lamination, and reduced this by pressing down the adhesive layer with our fingernails to strengthen the bond and fed several stickers in successively to reduce the wasted roll in between. We then started using wasted sections and bits of the packaging to create our own designs, which were full of charm and character. The process is fiddly, the adhesion temperamental and it’s disappointing that spare rolls are not available but we covered some key basic skills, some higher level skills and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Once I had taken the time to set the activity up, the children got on with it themselves and were helping each other. The stickers produced are quite basic but we valued the creative input. The machine itself is quite durable so, in terms of sustainability, replacement rolls would seem appropriate.

Great fun for all ages
Bought as a gift for my 9 year old daughter, she absolutely loves it! You are able to use a template to make a sticker or draw your own picture to design your own, encouraging their own creativity. Would be a lovely birthday present or stocking filler for a great price. It also comes with two lots of sticky backing so will last a long time.

Save your money!
It broke within 5 minutes, the adhesive got stuck in the machine and spent over an hour trying to poke it out. It's very basic with only a few stickers to make. Unfortunately didn't get any use out of it, though daughter lost interest after seeing the quality of stickers anyway. Save your money.

The instructions give an email address for replacement rolls - I emailed it and got a this email address does not exist reply!! Ridiculous, my daughter loves and wants to keep using it but with no replacements available - disposable plastic!

Buy a Xyron sticker maker. Refils are readily available from craft outlets both online and hobby shops.
Aww that is such a shame! My daughter really enjoys this and Ive been looking for refills also. I dont think I wouldve bought it if Id known how quickly it would be used then thrown away.

I can confirm that this would be suitable as the width of the sticker rolls provided are 6cm width and then you can easily print the 4.4cm.

Because chad valley and argos do not supply Refills and the email address in china is useless i have decided the only way to get Refills is to buy another set, take out rolls, put old used rolls back in new set and take set back for refund. Not something i want to do but forced to do.
Chad valley can then supply free Refills each time i need some as a consequence of selling product while knowing customers cannot buy Refills.

Argos should be ashamed of themselves selling a single use plastic toy!! Very disappointing.
I have emailed the address on the instructions but have had no response. Really disappointing as my 6 yr old daughter loved making her own stickers so much that she used all the contents within only a day. Very irresponsible of the manufacturer who has basically made a single use toy.
