About this product
Keeps them out when they need to stay out. This extra tall safety gate makes it much harder for determined climbers to get over, even as they grow taller and more ambitious. The double-locking handle opens easily with one hand when you've got your arms full, but the two-lock system is tricky enough that little fingers won't figure it out. It swings both ways, so you can push through from either side without wrestling it open.
The screw-fit installation provides a secure mount that won't budge under pressure. The double lock requires pressing two buttons on the handle together, so children can't simply push to open. One-handed operation lets you carry a basket, hold a mug, or keep a hand free while passing through. The gate swings both ways, easing movement through narrow hallways or busy doorways. At 91cm tall, it discourages climbing. It fits openings 75 to 81cm wide and has a wide walk-through section so you don't have to turn sideways. Suitable for children up to 24 months.

Best gate I’ve had
I bought this as I needed to be sure my children were safe when upstairs as we have rather dangerous stairs and I’m unable to put a gate across them so I put this in the bedroom door and so far even my 5 year old is unable to open it. I think the extra height allows for this. I also live that it closes behind me as gates often get left open especially if you’re carrying a child.

Great height but not totally secure
I’ve had this a few weeks now and found it very easy to fit and didn’t take too much time but I do find it slips a bit when leant on. We have it on our toddlers bedroom door and if she tried hard enough she could definitely pull it off which isn’t ideal. But the height is great and it’s a fairly smooth open and close mechanism. It’s anti climb for a toddler due to its height but I wouldn’t say it’s totally safe for a strong toddler that’s determined to push it down

Great feature
Really good security I have used for my large Caucasian Shepard dog and has been perfect. I got this so when people come round to my house he can stay in the one room and has been really helpful perfect height too. Very accessible easy to open and very stable.

The gap between the bars is around 56mm. As to whether it is suitable, this will depend on the size of the kittens.
The supplier suggests you may also wish to consider the Extra Tall Pressure Fit Pet Gate – Black, cat no: 953/7529, as this has gaps that are about 5.6cm - 5.8cm.
