Really good table, very solid and a classic design
Love that it's solid and it's a lovely shape with a handy little shelf. Only reason not to give it five stars is that the finishing of the wood is a bit uneven, leaving the lacquer thin on the legs. So we expect the legs to pick up more dirt and discolouration over the years, but honestly: it's a good little table table.

I think it’s oak. Excellent quality. I like ercol furniture , this coffee table is like that brand but far more affordable.

Yes, there are two metal bars on the underside my table too. The table is not solid wood as advertised. They run width ways at each end, and I assume they are there to reinforce the curved ends of the table. They are not visible and hidden from sight - unless you are lying down on the floor.
