Outdoor security
I have now had the pair of cameras for a couple of weeks and am very happy with their performance. I already had an Arlo door cam; the cameras were easy to set up and add to the App. The magnetic charging cable is clever and enables charging the cameras in situ - that said, the batteries have been lasting well. The cameras are very movement sensitive and can be triggered by stronger winds shaking foliage and pigeons flying past.

Good cameras at a good price
We have had two cameras in use for over 6 months now and they are nice and compact and perform well and the price was good, so long as you are ok with buying two of them. The only thing to be aware of is that in our experience they need to be re-charged quite often, about every 3 months approximately even in locations where they are not being triggered frequently. The recharging is not a problem for us as the cameras are not mounted in high or difficult-to-access locations but might not be ideal for someone who was not able to reach the cameras easily for re-charging, in which case it would make sense to buy solar panels to go with them, although the Arlo ones are very expensive. By way of comparison we also have Arlo XL cameras which are larger but the batteries last for up to a year before they need to be re-charged so more convenient for placing in hard-to-access locations.

I purchased the Pro 5 cameras almost 3 months ago to replace Pro 2 cameras which were at the end of their life. Very pleased with them. Very good battery life. God clear pictures.

Wall fixings poor. Poor distance with wifi
We have had Arlo systems previously and the Wi-Fi range was much stronger with the older set. Old set much easier to set up and we did not know a subscription was required making set up very difficult and significant extra running costs. The new wall fixings are not easy to use when charging batteries. The magnetic type was a much better option! Coverage distance has been reduced by approx 40 percent.

Easier to charge with less hassle than earlier ver
The earlier versions which used non rechargeable batteries were very expensive to maintain and more difficult to fit back into place! The pro 5 however is much easier to maintain and recharge, no fiddling with positioning. Battery definitely lasts longer than the earlier models and picture quality a definite improvement! Definitely suggest upgrading.

Amazing product
I researched cameras over many months and am so pleased to have purchased the Arlo wireless cameras with the added facility of wired in attachments. The quality is amazing, they are weather proof (not weather resistant) so even with the hardest rain, they are still excellent pictures, without losing clarity. The storage is also a valuable addition. Highly recommended.

Very good camera.
I spent quite a long time searching around for a good camera setup, eventually settling on Arlo. I have been impressed with the quality of the hardware, although this is slightly offset by the somewhat quirky software. For example, I had difficulty preventing the camera from being activated by sound. You would think that turning the microphone off would do the trick, but apparently not. I can't remember the steps I had to go through to eventually achieve this, but it wasn't obvious. Since we live in a windy area, this has made a big difference to battery life of the camera, which I can now say lives up to the claims made by Arlo. Before this, it managed to drain the battery by 50% in 48 hours. Due to the above, I had turned off the spotlight to save battery, but it still takes excellent night videos, albeit monochrome. I'm also very impressed with the ability to ignore motion outside of defined areas. I'm very conscious of not wanting to intrude on our neighbours privacy, and this feature manages that very well. It is nearly impossible to take the camera off for recharging without disturbing it's position, which means that the privacy zones have to be tinkered with every time. In the end, I bought a long USB extension lead so that I can leave the camera in situ while it's charging. Arlo might like to give some though to improving the mount in this respect, but it isn't a huge issue. All-in-all, I'm a happy customer.

You don’t need to have a subscription to use the device. You will have fewer features though.
Without a service plan, the Arlo device will still have the following features:
- Live Streaming
- Push Notifications
- Two-way Audio
- Auto Zoom and Tracking
Without an Arlo plan or trial you would not have access to features like Video History or Activity Zones.

Our Arlo Pro 5 cameras do not require an SD card. These cameras can be easily installed using the Arlo Secure app on a mobile device (such as a mobile phone) and connected to your router network. You can also sync them with a base station or SmartHub if you have one.

The Arlo Pro 5 camera does not include a built-in siren; however, it can trigger one on a connected Arlo SmartHub or base station. This model is compatible with the following base station and SmartHub models: VMB4000, VMB4500, VMB4540, and VMB5000.
Please note that only the VMB4000 and VMB4500 base station models feature a built-in siren.

For the Arlo Pro 5 camera to work, it needs to be connected either to a 2.4 or 5GHz Wi-Fi network or synced with an Arlo base station or SmartHub. The base station or SmartHub, in turn, must be connected to a router or extender via the included Ethernet cable. Given these requirements, using the Arlo Pro 5 in a remote location, like a field, could be challenging.
Considering your needs, a more suitable option might be the Arlo Go 2. This model offers Wi-Fi connectivity as well as a SIM card option, allowing it to connect directly to the internet through a mobile network. If there is strong cellular coverage at your intended location, the Arlo Go 2 would likely be the ideal choice.

The new Arlo Pro 5 camera can record 24/7 via a CVR subscription. With CVR activated on one of your cameras, you can record 24/7. CVR allows you to rewind so you can catch anything you missed. You can purchase either a 14-day subscription or a 30-day subscription. CVR requires that the camera is plugged in to AC power.
The Arlo Pro 5 camera is compatible with the VMA5000C indoor charger and the VMA5600C outdoor charger.
CVR plans are priced as follows:
