About this product
When you're moving between floors with a basket of laundry or a wriggly toddler on your hip, the last thing you need is a tricky gate latch or a bar to trip over. This extending wooden safety gate fixes directly to the wall with no bottom bar in the way, so stairs stay clear. The tilt-and-lift handle opens with one hand (easy for you, tricky for little fingers), and it swings one way or both ways depending on the space.
Built from solid birch with a natural hardwood finish that'll stand up to daily use. The unique tilting hinge mechanism is designed to put less stress on walls during installation, and top and bottom adjusters help you fit it securely in awkward spaces. It extends to fit openings from 64.5cm to 102cm wide, with a wide walk-through section that doesn't feel cramped when you're passing through. Quick-release fasteners let you remove the gate when you need to, then reattach it just as easily. Suitable for children up to 24 months.

Great stair gate
This stair gate is good. Sturdy, very well made and nice wood.

Tricky installation
The locking mechanism was fouling our null cap as a little higher than the opposite hinge which is a pain, as it means to use as intended it means lowering the gate to skirting board height which is proud from the wall so packers may need to be used. The hinge and catch are also offset so factor this on when marking out your wall/ null post.

Needs a professional to fit, useless Instructions
I’m not fantastic at installing things, but I’m also not an idiot. But this was impossible. The instructions made absolutely no sense and far more hassle than it’s worth

Good Gate for stairs
This gate is great because you don't have to step over anything to go through it. As I was my parents might trip going and down. And good for stopping young children and Elderly from falling down the stairs.

Assuming there are no other hindrances to the gate on the hinged side, e.g. the angle of the wall, etc. this should be able to open to 90 degrees.

This is designed so that it’s hinged on the one side. You don’t need lift the entire thing off to be able to go through it.
