Amazing Camera!

I bought this floodlight camera recently and it works amazing. The camera quality is better than expected and the functions are very easy to access and use on the app. There are a lot of useful features and it wasn’t too hard to set up.

Not what I expected

The first impression I had when I saw the floodlight was -wooow! It’s well build and it’s heavy. The manual has so much info about how to correctly wire the floodlight to the mains but that’s it really it is lacking to help you how to set up or any other information. I was well disappointed with the manual to be honest. You have everything you need in the box to fix it to the wall and the mounting template is very handy. Cable entry is on the rear of the plate so it’s a little fiddly if you need to run the cable up the wall. You need to download the Yale view app to start to set up your floodlight and must be contacted to wifi. My floodlight refused to connect to wifi for days until I tried to scan the QR code directly on the camera as the QR code in the manual won’t work for me. You also need to insert a micro SD card which is next to the reset button on the top of the camera. When this is all done you can start to “play” with the settings for your floodlight and here is my disappointment started. I found it difficult to connect with the wifi. The manual is very basic with no much info. It’s no cable grip to secure the cable. The camera movement is limited to up and down and zoom neither. The app need improvements regarding to set up the floodlight correctly. The motion detection is very sensitive and light turns on immediately which is great through the day but when it is dark that’s when is starts. It’s reacting to absolutely everything- bugs, wind, rain! I had over hundred notifications until I get up -it is a nightmare! It is absolutely drive me bonkers… Some positives are- the floodlight is super bright, no subscription needed, easy to link with Alexa, picture quality is great at day and night and the alarm is very loud. All in all it is not a bad floodlight but personally I won’t recommend it, please shop around.

Brilliant way of monitoring house

Really easy to set up, app required and compatible with Google and Amazon smart devices, loads of great fractures such as being able to talk through it. I fell so much safer having this also the fact you can raise a sounded alarm as a deterrent. I am really please and it couldn’t have came at a better time as my subscription with current door bell monitoring was ending and the price was increasing so having this is a saving.

Great features, easy to install, clear images

Good points; easy to install and set up (even for an amateur), super bright led lights, adjustable field of motion detection, 2 way speech function, siren. Clear images both day & night. Detection area can be set up. Bad points; no side to side camera pan adjustment, needs SD card to record (not included). 4/5. All in all it’s a great piece of kit, it has some great features, the side pan is the one thing that it noticeably lacks, it would be 5 stars if it had side to side pan adjustments to give full coverage.

Impressive Piece of Kit

The floodlight camera was really easy to install on the back of our garage. It easily connected to the Wi-Fi extender about 7m away. Set-up via the app was simple as the in-app instructions were clear and easy to follow. I was surprised with the brightness of the floodlight as it looks quite small, which is great as it’s not bulky and doesn’t stand out. I’m very impressed with the picture quality of the camera, it’s as good, if not better than both our existing doorbell camera and CCTV. The floodlight and camera are easily controlled through the app. The floodlight can be turned on/off manually or the motion setting allows you to change the amount of time the light stays on for after motion is detected. My favourite feature is the siren, you simply hold down the siren button on the app and it emits a loud siren from the floodlight. I can see how this could be really handy if I’m away from home and was alerted to an intruder in my garden. It’s also great for watching the dog in the garden and I have used the siren to disturb him when he was chewing something he shouldn’t. It works great if you have a mischievous pup as you can also use the 2-way speak function to tell off mischievous pups or children and you can listen in. The camera will record and save images whenever motion is detected so you can go into the app and check recordings. I would fully recommend this floodlight camera to anyone who needs some extra security over their outside space.

Does everything that it says well!

This is a great addition to our back garden not only for security but also for safety being able to see in the dark. The camera picks up the animals that are trying to steal the growing vegetables as well as being able to see the children when playing outside and the added bonus of being able to talk to them through the app. With a memory card there is no need for monthly subscriptions. It is the only system that you need for simple easy security with lots of special design features. With multiple people able to use the devices on the app we hope to buy more from the range. The only down side I found with the design is that there is no hole for the wire to hang out of if you do not or can not wire it through a surface directly behind it.

Great Security Camera with Floodlight

Great Security Camera and Floodlight with some excellent features. The 1080p camera with the floodlights and siren is a great way to keep criminals at bay. The wifi connectivity and compatibility with Alexa and Good Assistant is just what is needed.

Must Need Device To Improve Home Security.

This device can potentially replace a video doorbell, but with the great added perk of also being a floodlight and an effective siren to deter intruders. The Yale product is very well built and robust to withstand the diverse British weather. I did however find it bulky and its weight twice as much as my older device it replaced. Installation is very simple depending on the location you choose to anchor the device. If your able to replace a 3 pin UK plug, then wiring this should cause no trouble. However, if your not confident, it is recommend to use an electrician. I had it fully working within forty minutes. Features I really liked: Fast motion alerts straight to your mobile, high quality 2 way speak, very high video clarity, no subscription, very intuitive app but it did require a lot of tinkering. Delivery personnel were very impressed with the 2 way speak also. Features that let down the device: Unable to fully rotate the camera; a ball joint hinge would have been more suited, siren is loud but impossible to remain active when it is raining as it is triggered very easily, even on the lowest motion settings, most nights the floodlight comes on and off for no apparent reason this became more of an issue after a firmware update. Summary: This product is more suited towards the front of the home as you can make use of the 2 way speak feature, once you add a Micro SD Card (128gb), the device in fact records continuously for days (9 days) and you can check any moment from the recorded timeframe this includes recording sound. I have given 4 stars because the floodlight triggers more worse than the one it replaced which was five years old, primarily due to car headlights triggering it. So although it is somewhat pricey this device is actually a combination of several devices and a must need to improve home security.

Yale floodlight security camera

Fantastic extra security for your home , we have placed ours in the back garden so we have the motion detector light for the dog going out, and for us going to the bins etc, the floodlight is lovely and bright 2,000 lumen , the app was easy to download however I could not get the light and the WiFi linked but my son came and helped me ! The siren is loud enough to deter anyone who shouldn’t be there , definitely a great buy if you are wanting some extra protection around your home .

Great Security & Impressive Lighting

Had the light fitted by electrician in place of existing floodlight. I was sceptical as to how good floodlight would be as certainly not cheap. I was not disappointed. Quality and robust build is impressive. The floodlight is bright and provides very good coverage. The App is intuitive and easy to use. Overall impressive product from Yale.
