BRITA Glass Jug
I have owned a couple of the plastic jugs and whilst they have both been fairly robust, they do show their age over time. The glass jug is more robust and I'm hoping that it will prove to be a better long term bet. Also there are health concerns about plastic and how it may impact ones health.

Keeps the water so clean
We bought this to replace our plastic jug which was okay but very difficult to clean off the lime scale as you couldn’t put the lid in the dishwasher or get the led wet. Where with the glass one it can and the led is removable. I expected it to be heavy but I can manage it easily with weak wrists. It’s a great product

Low quality - sent back
I returned this same day - I bought based on the explicit description that it`a made from glass, and while this is true for the exterior, the glass is wafer thin and will probably break following the slightest bump. All else, including the large filter bed inside, which negates the benefits of the glass exterior completely. I now boughed Aarke, which cost significantly more but is all sturdy class and stainless steel with not a single plastic component, so I can be confident that I`m drinking truly clean water.

Best jug!
I’m so happy with the glass water jug, I’ve had the plastic ones before but as I live in a hard water area they used to get limescaymarks! With the glass one I have none of that it cleans much easier. Also stops my kettle from letting limescale. The water tastes so much cleaner!

This glass jug is much, much better than the plastic one. It’s really easy to clean. I had a problem with the plastic one because of limescale, and I couldn’t remove it. If I tried too hard, it would scratch the plastic. So I highly recommend the glass jug.

Lovely to have real glass
For many years filter jugs have only been available in plastic. Glass is a far superior material, especially for food and drink products. This glass jug is superb quality; German-manufactured, robust and yet lightweight, and easy to keep sparkling clean. Another great feature is the LED 'traffic light' indicator, which not only measures the time since you changed the filter, but measures the amount of water you actually use. It does this by cleverly monitoring the tilt on the jug whenever you pour it.

Chomps through the filter quickly enough
I filled it up at the same time as my bigger jug using the same filter type and it is already flashing red whereas my other jug shows that I have plenty of use left before I would need to change. How come?

After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the BRITA Glass Water Filter Jug Light Blue 2.5L: Some coarse particles or residues may come from old water pipes into tap water. Particles can reliably be filtered out by a MAXTRA PRO filter - down to a size of 0.03mm which is so small that it is invisible to the human eye.
BRITA MAXTRA PRO cartridges are designed to improve the taste and appearance of water. The MAXTRA PRO will reduce limescale, chlorine, lead and copper from the water, these reduction amounts can vary depending on the water quality in your area.
We can confirm with the MAXTRA PRO, the reduction rates for metals (including lead) are at least 90% and for chlorine 80% that conform to DIN EN 17093.
