Bought two weeks ago to update my living room , it’s a nice dark forest green , it did take a couple of coats but worth the effort , 2.5 ample enough , bought at good price too 👍

Nice colour depth
I bought this a week ago for 1 small wall in my kitchen, I was painting on top of white silk, It took 3 coats for a really good depth of green and only used half of the tin

I bought this to cover up some horrible wallpaper. We were worried because it seemed as though it wouldn’t cover the patterns but once fired, it covered fully with an amazing matte finish, absolutely transformed the room!

Needs lots of coats to cover
I have always used and been pleased with Johnstones paint. However, not so.pleased with this one. The colour is lovely but it needs lots of coats to achieve the depth of colour and then it marks very easily

Some of the worst paint ever!
I saw all the one and two star reviews but stupidly ignored them. After prepping the wall with sugar soap and excitedly purchasing this paint, it is awful. Not only is the colour a more emerald/forest green than the darker ash/grey that is on the tin, it goes on terribly. It isn't smooth, seems to have "bits" within it, and a strange chalky texture. It is patchy and awful, plus being nothing like the colour on the tin. I bought "sherwood forest" from B&Q instead and that is exactly the colour I thought this was supposed to be

After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the Johnstone's Wall Matt Emulsion Paint 2.5L - Ivy Sky: I can confirm that the paint could be applied in a kitchen area, regretfully it will not create a washable finish if this is the intention, it will be wipeable at best.
If you need a coating that will withstand regular cleaning its advisable to choose a specific kitchen and bathroom paint.
