This is a must for checking the temperature of your pizza oven. I kept thinking it must be hot enough by now but the digital thermometer showed my impatience would have ruined my pizza if I didn’t have it.

A key device if you want to get the best from your pizza oven. A little pricey to buy; however, it is critical if you want to make sure your stone (not just ambient oven) temperature is perfect for cooking. Works a treat and ensures a cracking result each time

My Ooni pizza gauge read red hot, my barbecue prob read 350deg ? Buying the infrared thermometer solved the problem, gave instant temperature of the pizza stone, now wouldn’t be without it.

Lowest temperature?
I do not want this for a pizza stone but for checking surface temp of lower temperature foods or pans. What is the lowest temperature this will work for?

Hello Bridget,

The supplier has advised the following for the Ooni Digital Infrared Thermometer:

"The Ooni Digital Infrared Thermometer has a broad range of -26 °F and 1022 °F (-32 °C and 550 °C) and is accurate to within the larger of 2% or 4 °F."

They do add this further info though: "The Ooni Digital Infrared Thermometer can be used for measuring the temperature of cooking surfaces within a pizza oven, so this can also be used on pans. It can also be used for food, however, it may provide some inaccuracy as this only detects the outside layer, unlike probe thermometers that can detect internal food temperature."
