Great mesh set up
Took a little time setting up but the instructions were all very self explanatory. Covering the whole of our house now which the walls are so thick that the standard router we had couldn’t get through. Overall very happy with the system

Easy to set up and great range
This Deco system is the perfect solution for patchy wireless coverage. It's straightforward to set up and, once it's done, you can leave it alone. There's some reduction of speed as you get further away from the wireless units but, as there's 3 of them compared to just using your router, it's not been a problem. I've now set up two of these systems, one totally wireless and the other using ethernet back haul. The wired back haul setup provides a faster wireless connection.

Easy and good range
Bought for my Dad to extend WiFi from the router at the front of the house to the end of the back garden. I needed to place mine in a line, so the end device has to hop twice. Even with that, I still got 80mbps at the end of the garden which is plenty for his use. Phones seemlessly roamed between access points and speeds elsewhere were as good as claimed Devices are setup from the Deco app which is relatively straightforward. There's enough configuration to tailor to your needs without becoming overbearing. The status map shows any problems, and a live view of all devices connected as well as to which access point. If you need faster throughput then the X20 might be ideal, but as far as range is concerned this is a good choice.

Perfect
Really happy with this item. No more issues with patchy WiFi in my upstairs office and my son is really happy he can plug in his PlayStation direct into it and avoid lagging. So easy to set up too!

Good Product but install may be tricky.
If you don’t mind objects that look a lot like toilet rolls scattered at strategic locations around your home and you simply want to extend WiFi coverage, having no complications like Sky Q and Sky Mini boxes or devices requiring static IP addresses, these are perfect and the install will be easy. If you have Sky and clients that need to be on the same network, installation will not be as easy. The Primary box, cabled to your Router/Hub has to be set to Access Point mode. Sky Q and Mini boxes need to be ethernet cabled to nodes. Set the SSID and Password of the mesh Network the same as your current Hub, you may have to turn the Hub WiFi off to avoid conflicts with the mesh network, so far I have found that not necessary and the mesh network is, so far, pretty solid.

Immediate Transformation
I previously had a Tp Link Archer c6 with WiFi 4 and an upstairs extender; it served me well for 5 years but recently started to see dropouts and slow speed. These immediately transformed that situation! I now have fast broadband in every room in the house and even the garden is well covered. The only pain for me was setting up the router to connect to Vodafone broadband through CityFibre - this was only because of conflicting information from both the ISp and online forums; in the end I started flicking switches in the app until I finally managed to get a green light! These have been a real game changer and I would definitely recommend!

Great self learning AI WAPs
I have used these in a couple of properties and each time it has resolved all WiFi issues, quick and easy to set up and look very very good

Rubbish if you have lost of smart home tech
Got these as a replacement for an older Google mesh system thinking it would be a good upgrade to WiFi 6. I appreciate it's an entry level price but what I got was unusable. Broadband speed was slower than just through my ISP supplied router. Signal strength was poor between them when the old system had been fine in same positions. Icing on the cake was things randomly dropping of the the network, then when you used voice commands to activate anything there was a long pause while it sent the data before it responded and if you where lucky whatever you've asked to action would be on the network and actually do whatever it should. I went back to my old system for the avoidance of doubt and everything worked perfectly well. I won't be TP Link WiFi system again any time soon. Thankfully I managed to return it for a refund.

Hey Roginki,
I can advise that you use this with your existing router.
Thanks for using Q&A.
Hello Kir,
After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the TP-Link Deco X1500 AX1500 Whole Home Mesh Wi-Fi 6 - 3-pack: Yes, your Deco system can work with a 5G hub. However, please note the following setup requirement:
One Deco unit must be connected to the 5G hub via an Ethernet cable. This Deco will act as the main Deco in your mesh network.
Once the main Deco is connected and set up, the remaining Deco units can connect wirelessly to form a complete mesh network.
Please ensure that the main Deco is properly connected to the 5G hub and powered on before adding the other Deco units.
Thank you for using Q&A.
Hello Malcolm.
After contacting our suppliers they have advised for the TP-Link Deco X1500 AX1500 Whole Home Mesh Wi-Fi 6 - 3-pack.
Key Considerations:
Deco X1500 is a Wi-Fi Mesh Router, Not a Modem:
The Deco X1500 does not have a built-in modem, so it cannot directly connect to a fibre line (ONT/OpenReach socket).
You will need an existing modem or ONT (Optical Network Terminal) to convert the fibre signal into an Ethernet connection.
Check Your Current Supanet Router:
If your Supanet-provided router is a combined modem + router, you will still need it to act as the modem.
If it’s just a router (no modem function), then your can replace with deco directly.
Required Settings for Deco X1500:
Connection Type: Supanet typically uses PPPoE (you’ll need username & password from internet service provider).
VLAN Tagging (if needed): OpenReach Full Fibre often requires VLAN 101 for internet.
You may need to configure these in the Deco app (Advanced Settings > Internet Setup).
Thank you for using Q&A.
Hello Alan,
The supplier has advised the following for the TP-Link Deco X1500 AX1500 Whole Home Mesh Wi-Fi 6 - 3-pack:
"Deco can replace powerline adapters and provide Wi-Fi coverage in different areas. Deco is compatible with Sky devices."
Thank you for using Q&A.
Hello Jimbo,
I can advise the following for the TP-Link Deco X1500 AX1500 Whole Home Mesh Wi-Fi 6 - 3-pack:
They can as access points, or if you can place the Hub in bridge mode you can then use these as the router and the hub is just the modem.
Thanks for using Q & A.
Hi Andy,
WiFi coverage of 3 pack is up to 5,600 ft² /520 m. When you setup a Deco system, each Deco unit's position matters as their position and placement would greatly affect wireless performance and coverage.
Please follow the rules below to properly place your satellite Deco units:
1. Do not put any Deco units in enclosed space like cabinet or shelf. Putting them in open area helps a lot.
2. Avoid putting Deco near any large metal objects. Wireless signal can be blocked/interfered by metal objects.
3. Make sure not to place the Deco too high or too low, keep it at the same level as ordinary desktop.
4. Within the Deco app, check the signal strength of satellite Deco units. Typically, a 2-bar signal is acceptable. If you see only 1 bar, you may have to move the satellite closer to the main Deco (or other satellite units).
5. Do not put two Deco unit too close to each other(like in the same room or next door), we usually do not need more than 1 Deco unit to cover 1-3 rooms.
Thanks for using Q&A.
Hello Kevie,
The supplier has advised the following for the TP-Link Deco AX1500 Whole Home Mesh Wi-Fi 6 System - 3 Pack:
The Deco X1500 (like other TP-Link Deco mesh systems) uses a true mesh network topology, meaning that each unit can communicate with the others to extend coverage in a series (also called daisy-chaining) or in a star pattern where all units connect directly to the main unit.
How Coverage Extends:
1. Daisy-Chaining (Series Extension): If the main unit is at the far end of the house, each additional Deco unit can connect to the nearest one to extend the signal further away from the main unit. This works well if your internet connection enters at one end of the house.
2. Star Topology (Direct to Main Unit): If possible, each Deco unit will try to connect directly to the main unit to reduce latency and maximize speed. This is preferred if all units have a strong signal to the main unit.
Best Placement Strategy: Middle placement is ideal for best coverage, but if the main unit has to be at one end, you can still extend the network using daisy-chaining. Avoid too many hops, as each hop reduces bandwidth slightly. Try placing Deco units where they have at least a "Good" signal to another unit for stable performance.
Thank you for using Q&A.
Hi Bern,
Deco will not reset after a power outage. The system will try to reconnect to the internet and keep all the settings when the power recover.
Thanks for using Q&A.
Hi Torchy,
3 pack is suitable for 3-5 bedroom house. The wifi coverage is approximately 5,600 ft².
Thanks for using Q&A.
Hello Rover,
After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the TP-Link AX1500 Whole Home Mesh Wi-Fi 6 System - 3 Pack: ''Yes, it will work with any UK ISP modem-router. Just ensure any one of the 3 units acts a main Deco and rest of Decos can act as satellite units.''
Thank you for using Q & A.
