Not as good as expected!
Bought to replace a Bosch iron which I’ve had years. This leaks water if you put it to maximum steam and the cord is not long enough! Temperature control feels cheap. Not sure if I would recommend.

Iron Away
Great iron
Uses small amounts of water but creates a great steam, it's very light , creases gone after one glide, reaches tempreature quickly! great little iron and worth spending a little bit more than on one that is 25 ! I would recommend this great iron!

Just what I needed.
I bought this Phillips item to replace our ageing, cheap iron, after using a similar one in Australia with which I was very impressed. The iron fills with water easily and quickly with a wide mouth - a vast improvement. The weight is neither too light nor too heavy. It heats up quickly and removes creases easily and stubborn creases using the steam booster button. I wouldn't want a heavy iron with a charger unit so this is an ideal piece of equipment for me. It's a little bit sad to enthuse over a piece of domestic equipment but I am pleased that I chose this model.

Not good!
Constantly leaked water over the ironing. I researched Philip's website for an answer to the issue, which seemed to suggest that there was insufficient heat to provide just steam. I noted the recommended adjustment, which quite frankly I had set anyway! All to no avail, still carried on leaking water like a tap!

Hello Gina,
The supplier has advised the following for the Philips Series 5000 SteamGlide Plus DST5030/26 Steam Iron.
For the Philips DST5030 steam iron, you cannot use steam on all temperature settings.
How it works: Steam function only works on medium to high temperature settings. At low temperatures, steam is disabled.
Why: Steam requires enough heat to turn water into a vapor. If the soleplate isn’t hot enough, the iron may:
- Drip water instead of producing steam
- Damage delicate fabrics
Quick guide:
- Low (synthetic fabrics) No steam
- Medium (silk, wool blends) Light steam
- High (cotton, linen) Full steam
Tip: Always wait until the iron fully heats up before using the steam button or continuous steam.
Thank you for using Q&A.
