About this product
Pumping doesn't have to mean sitting still. This Medela Freestyle Hands-Free breast pump keeps you mobile while you express. The rechargeable pocket-sized pump and wearable collection cups free your hands for whatever needs doing. It uses 2-Phase Expression Technology. It mimics baby's rhythm, helping stimulate milk flow first, then expressing slowly. The lightweight cups sit discreetly in your bra. They're designed to match the shape of the lactating breast.
The research-based cups avoid localised compression, helping maximise milk flow. The broader lower half supports the underside of your breast. The smooth rim flares away from the breast for comfort. Connect with the Medela Family app to plan and track your feeding schedule. It gives you access to virtual milk storage tracking too. There are only 3 parts to clean. They're dishwasher safe and easy to assemble. Includes 2 breast shields in different sizes for a personalised fit. Mains or battery powered. Batteries included.

Get back the old cups
The biggest flaw this pump has are the collection cups. Medela changed their collection cups model in July 2023 and since then it's the worst! The cups they had before had better tear-drop fit and top-breast coverage. The new cups are shaped differently, connect differently, and now include a silicone ring around the flange. Medela claims it can stay on and doesn’t need to be removed to clean, but there’s no way it won’t get moldy if it isn’t removed and washed at least daily. The membrane is slightly different as well. This is very upsetting to many parents who were hoping to get replacement pieces for their existing cups, and for parents who ordered these hoping to get what was advertised.

Great Breast Pump
It was quite quick to use it and fill the amount I needed, very easy to use and honestly quite comfortable as well :)

Terrible! Do not buy
I bought this breast pump and I instantly regret it. Worst pump out there!! Super cheap, it’s very loud and barely works. My first pump died within a month so I got a warranty one and not even within the month it slowly died again. It will leave a lot of milk in your breast you will never be empty!! Good suction? Definitely not! I would not suggest buying breast pumps from Medela, a lot of moms I know do not like this brand and I know why now.
Dontttbuy!!
Expresses little milk and cannot walk around
I bought this product after trialing the older model with my friend’s pump. The updated model with the wearable cups is such a disappointment. The suction is terrible. I have to sit to ensure the cups don’t shift because they have to sit exactly right to express a small amount of milk, which defeats the purpose. Luckily the pump is still compatible with the old flex connectors so I’ve had to purchase those parts and flanges. I express way more milk with those and am able to walk around. I now only use the cups in a pinch. Also, the buttons on the pump are very sensitive and if I put it in my pocket it often pauses. The same thing happens if I wear it using the lanyard.

Works well and Easy to use but they leak
Works great as a pump and is easy to use, but gave 4 stars as it the cups do leak a little bit at the bottom, even though it’s a not a large amount probably a tea spoon amount it is quite annoying especially at this price point.

Good pump but the touch buttons are a disaster!!
The pump is good and works well, but I honestly can’t believe someone has not tried it before launching or that you haven’t gotten more negative feedback on the buttons! The cups sits well in most bras and you are supposed to to be able to move around while you are pumping but honestly nothing annoys me more than the touch buttons as the speed always changes or the pumping pauses by itself when wearing it around my neck or in my pocket when it touches me or anything else. Why not use regular buttons so this does not happen?!!! Please make a new version with regular buttons instead of touch buttons for all future moms out there I beg you.

Terrible Product
This pump sucks, it says hands free but it's not. First of all the pumping unit is like a brick and you're still connected with tubing. It's so inconvenient. The pump itself is also super sensitive to touch so if you wear the pump like how its shown then if it swings and hits your thigh it'll change the settings or shut it off. If you're gonna get a hands free pump get an actual hands free pump.

Not Recommended at all
I bought this product 2 months ago & it stopped working twice in 2 months. Very unhappy and unsatisfied

good pump but needs a lock function for screen
This is a good pump however it is quite frustrating to use hands free or even sitting as the touch screen is very sensitive. This means it typically knocks off by accident which then disrupts a session. No idea how you are supposed to put the pump in a form of pocket without switching it off unintentionally. I use neck strap but tend to find device rotated inwards to body and again the play/pause button is pressed by skin contact. This pump would benefit from a Lock Screen function to stop this and improve user experience overall.

Fantastic pump for hybrid flexibility
I settled on this pump having experienced the Medela hospital grade pump at the hospital and because it offered a hybrid between ability to pump with normal attachments or the in bra ones (I had tried the Elvies and wasn’t sold on these due to being painful on the nipples so wanted option to pump with traditional attachments). Pump has been great for me, am getting the same volume out as with the hospital grade pump but is much smaller and more portable.
