Looked at several locations to install it in the outside of my house no where to put it unless there was a plug socket near as the power cable was to short and would have to come through a window. Wrong advertising as outdoor security and power lead to long and intrusive for indoor. Having said this I did set it up which was easy and all other features were good

Just bought two cameras. Neither of them will connect to the app on my iPhone. Tried multiple times and followed the steps fully. Will be returning for an alternative.

Really straight forward to set up and use. Some of the features can be a little tricky to find so it's a bit like most new gadgets, just trial and error. But overall it does what it says on the tin.

Excellent all round outdoor camera
I was looking for a pan and tilt camera to track people coming down my pathway and leaving packages in my porch. I looked at reviews of Tapo C510W and it seemed to fit the build. Order, which went very smoothly, and set up. The camera is very easy to control via the app, and the images are clear and having the ability to save to local storage is a major bonus. Overall very pleased with this purchase.

Great security camera
I just bought this camera to replace a UNV that had been locked out by software. Has much more functionality and great resolution. The full 360 pan and tilt is really good to use. Also has person and movement detection that seems to work very well. Would highly recommend this camera.

Regarding the issue of delayed notifications, please try the following steps.
1.Reboot camera
2.Check if motion detection is triggered, if the detection is not triggered, please refer to the detection troubleshooting steps---
--Method 1: Enable alarm for detected motion, check if alarm is raised.
--Method 2: Go to Activity/Message center on APP, check if events are displayed.
3.Check notifications features are enabled.
--Camera settings-> Detection & Alerts -> Notifications
--Me -> Notifications -> Camera Detection Messages
4.Try uninstall and reinstall the Tapo app to see if it resolves the issue.

You can use the Tapo C510W without any subscription fees.
Once the camera is set up and connected to the internet, you can view the live feed through the Tapo app at no additional cost.
For recording footage, there are two options:
Tapo Care (Cloud Storage): The camera includes a free 30‑day trial, which provides cloud storage and extra features. After the trial ends, a subscription is required to continue using this service.
microSD Card: You can insert a microSD card to record footage locally, either continuously or when motion is detected, with no ongoing fees.
In summary: A subscription is optional, you only need it if you want cloud storage after the free trial.

1. How far away from the router can the camera be placed?
Tapo devices generally perform well within a range of 30 feet (approximately 9 meters) from the router. However, the actual distance and effective range depend on your router's signal strength, walls, and other obstacles.
2. Does it only work on "4G Wi-Fi" (5 GHz)?
The Tapo C510W only supports 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11b/g/n). It is not compatible with 5 GHz Wi-Fi networks. Please ensure your router broadcasts a 2.4 GHz network for the camera to connect.
3. The Tapo app supports camera sharing. Your father can grant you access to his camera via your own mobile device. Shared users can access the camera's live view, call, voice call, PTZ control, and SD card video functions, but they cannot access Tapo Care cloud storage or change other camera settings. This feature is free.

The Tapo C510W does not have an Ethernet port. It connects exclusively via Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11b/g/n, 2.4 GHz), so a wireless connection to your router is the only networking option available for this camera.
