The Freesat Recordable 500GB 4K TV Box was a replacement it was easey to connect and setup works very well simple process for recording resolution is sharp and clear, it interfaces with my tv and there is plenty of storage space for recordings.

Ideal upgrade from Humax HDR-1100S
I bought this recently to replace the Humax that had become unreliable. This unit is much better especially as it supports 4k which the old Humax did not. I also preferer the new EPG which goes directly to Favourites once populated via the Settings menu. I also like the suggestions page which is a nice addition. This new unit is also silent when accessing the HDD which is a welcome improvement.

You would have to skip using x2, x3 etc. there isn't an option to skip then all in one go.

Wi fi is not needed for general use/recording. It connects directly to your Satellite dish and broadband for On Demand services and Netflix.

I can advise that most modern satellite dishes come equipped with a Universal LNB, which is compatible with both Sky and Freesat. If your Sky dish has a Universal LNB, you can simply connect it to a Freesat box.
