About this product
The Argos Home Atlas Metal Guest Bed sorts overnight stays when you need a second sleeping space ready without taking up extra room. The single tubular metal frame includes a pull-out guest bed that tucks neatly underneath when not in use. Castors on the lower bed make it easy to roll out and set up in seconds. Two medium-feel mattresses come with it, each with 323 springs for supportive rest. The silver finish fits in with most bedroom colours and styles.
The metal frame keeps things sturdy and holds up to 110kg per bed. Metal slats support each mattress and allow air to circulate underneath. The pull-out bed rolls smoothly on castors and tucks away flush when you're done with it. Both mattresses flip over to even out wear over time. It's for adults and teenagers aged 13 and above. Self-assembly needed, two people recommended to make it easier. Part of the Atlas collection, comes with a 2 year manufacturer's guarantee.

Trundle mental bed
I purchased these types of beds a few years ago so thought I would order a second one for my younger boy. The first ones I had ordered are great quality and the mattress where amazing , Im not to sure if they have changed the manufacturer of the new bed but the quality of the frame and the mattress are not great the mattresses are very thin.

No it is not designed for the mattresses to be turned sideways across the two beds to make a bigger one.
The slats are not flush with the top edges of the bed and, also, there is the risk that they could work themselves apart as there's no design feature or structural element on the bed, e.g. brackets or hooks, that would keep them together. Trying to use it this way would be at the user's own risk and could invalidate the item's warranty as it's not designed to be used this way.

There is a Home Atlas Single Metal Bed Frame - Black under item number 2722465, however this is just a single bed.

“ This bed is not designed for children's beds, and the gaps do not meet the testing standards of BS8509 for children's beds.
It just passed the adult bed test EN 1725 ”
