will cut long grass, rewound spools are expensive so be prepared to wind your own, motor will only last 3 years with heavy usage (this is my third)

Excellent purchase. The strimmer performed much better than expected - a strong motor with a lot of power. It wasn't fazed by wet, dense and thick nettles and grass that have bogged down and burnt out 2 previous strimmers. The only downside is that it does eat it's way through line very quickly, the automatic supply was constantly feeding but this could have been down to what I was cutting. I am very happy with this purchase.

Light and powerful.
Easy to assemble, all you need is a Philips head screwdriver to secure one screw. Lighter than my previous strimmer but almost twice the power. Adjustable grip makes it easy to find a comfortable way of holding it. Made very short work of long grass, nettles and assorted weeds without needing to use the thicker cord which comes with the strimmer. Overall I'm very pleased so far, it seems well built and clears an overgrown medium size garden in about twenty minutes.

Great value for money
This is the second one I have bought the first one lasted 8 years and worked very hard. The best bit about this machine is it is powerful enough to do hard work but not too heavy to use. Will probably buy another one in 8 years time!

I needed a powered alternative to petrol strimmers. This is perfect. The autofeed spool is a luxury. It takes out thick clumps of weeds. We'll recommended.

We have just bought this strimmer, saw that Argos dont do the spare spools, went on Amazon and bingo lots of options, type in the make and model number,, ebay also do options of spare spools and spool caps,

No you cannot add a metal blade. This is designed to take those spools of cord only.

Our supplier has advised that the Black + Decker 35cm Corded Grass Trimmer will only work with the 2mm line supplied and not with any other diameter.
The Strimmer can be used with the HDL (Heavy Duty Lines) for more overgrown areas.
