Not so good ,as it looks like
Bought this and used twice and started leaking.Fist trial was ok but Water tank was quick empty at first use needed to refill it a few times.It glides good over clothing but it became quickly cold after charge ,so had to put it many times on the charging dock.Steam ok but could be better.Its not as heavy to hold.Had to return this item esp due that it started leaking and didn't took risk to get same back.It held me back to rebuy this one again due that it is in need to get put on dock to charge many times and heat up again and then go cold very quickly.I prefer the direct plug in iron without it loosing its heat with long cable..I wouldn't recommend this iron.

Doesn't stand up
Had to return this item because it cant stand up on its own. You can only put it back on the charger. So unless your charger is right next to the ironing board or in our case a large fabric cutting table, its no use. Clearly designed by a man who has never used an iron.

We are unsure of your reference to the Kates one.
The Soleplate is ceramic coated on this product. The only reason you would burn material with this iron is you have not set the correct temperature for the type of material being ironed
