Perfect for small garden
Nice small parasol for my nice small garden.adjustable so my shade can follow the sun and give welcome relief from stronger sunshine .lovely material and shower proof too got the typical spring / summer weather of the U.K.

Does the job but not outstanding.
This parasol is ok but I don't know and can't find out if it's material is waterproof. Not great value as I have subsequently found very similar at a only two thirds of the price.

A basic parasol, reasonable shading. Initially difficult to put up and adjust, however it is very light and portable.

Small good quality tilting parasol
I needed a smaller sun parasol for the front of my house, which has large stone windowsills and a narrow path in front of it. This material on this parasol is a lot thicker than other 1.6 m parasols that I have had. It appears to be water resistant but it hasn’t been tested fully for rain yet. The one thing I really like about it is that it tilts, so I can move it around at a 45 % angle and away from my front window pane. The stem on it is quite thin, so some parasol bases will be too big to hold it. It gives good shade and is reasonably stable but can topple over in high winds.

Poor quality
When I erected the parasol it was necessary to use my rubber mallet to tap the lower half of the pole into the ground. Upon removal of the lower half of the pole the pointed end remained in the ground and, as I was on a cricket field was not allowed to dig it up. To be honest, not good quality and would certainly not recommend. Argos were fine and issued a refund

The top pole with the parasol attached slides into the bottom pole. There is a handle on the pole that should clip down to lock it in place. Should you need further help I will pop a link below for product support.

You are in luck as you can use this base httpswww.argos.co.ukproduct8671637 , though if the wind gets up it may tip but for those very hot days when we need a parasol, it will suffice no problem at all and deal just fine with a light breeze. This parasol is excellent quality and lightweight. I am looking for a new colour to purchase this year. I hope this helps.

After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the 1.6m Garden Parasol - Blue: As the pole diameter is only 20mm, so almost all the bases on the market can be used on this parasol.

I beg to differ, but I have just bought one, and yes it does tilt. You need to slide up a little sleeve near to the catch mechanism, and it tilts.
Overall quality is rather poor though, and I would be surprised if it lasts a couple of summers, but it is cheap. Tesco have the same one at 6 quid if you have a clubcard, and really that is the quality of this product.
