From first rides to pedalling solo. The smarTrike Vanilla starts with you steering from behind, then switches to child control when they're ready to take over. It's a trike that changes as your toddler does, across four stages from sitting passenger to independent rider. Suitable for ages 15 months to 3 years, with adult supervision.
Touch steering makes guiding from the parent handle smooth and responsive. The Y harness, safety bar and sun canopy keep them secure and shaded while they get used to the motion. High back support and a foldable footrest mean comfort at every stage. When they're ready to pedal, you hand over control. Wide wheels add stability. Self-assembly required.

Christina is 3 years old, I bought a pink and lilac smar track trike for her 18 months ago, I can say with confidence she has had many happy days on the trike, along the coast, to the corner shop, the duck pond, the park, the local school to meet her cousins. We mainly used the adult steering device for both near-at-hand and further-away outings, (having put the trike in the boot) and Christina was none the wiser! I liked the sense of air and light freely flowing around the child, and there were no struggles associated with wrestling a toddler back into a buggy after play time in the playground…..she was delighted to get onto her ‘bike’. I had planned to pass on the trike to baby number 2, but somehow Peter will never suit pink and lilac with streamers, he is definitely a red and navy sort of little guy, so smar track number 2 is now in the garden and we look forward to sharing his smiles as he rides along on all those exciting outings. By the way, the trike is very sturdy and can handle most surfaces.

I bought this as a birthday gift for my nearly 2 year old grandaughter. She loves it. She was at the stage where she did not want to stay in her pushchair and wanted to walk. She will quite happily stay in it for the duration of the walk. I also like the fact that she can also use it as pedal trike as she learns that skill. It has good safety features, a harness and a protective rail. Overall an excellent purchase price wise.

“ In the STR models, the pedals are detachable.
When the baby is still to young to pedal, please remove the pedals so they don’t hurt their feet.
Place their feet on the footrest under the seat.
When they grow bigger and are ready, please attach the pedals and switch to child mode. ”
