Product is top notch 10/10 however Argos had an issue with damage to the delivered item but in their defence they did offer a 3rd replacement I opted for £20 off original price because the damage was minimal the 2nd time

"Yes, this is correct. The tank must still be placed on a flat surface. There is then no need for any polystyrene layer between the tank and the surface."

After checking this for you it is recommended that the MINIMUM tank size for a single adult axolotl is 10 gallons or 45.5 litres. It must be 20-25 inches (51-64 cm) long, 10 inches (25.4 cm) wide and deep.
If you intend to use the tank only for the axolotl then yes, this will be suitable.

"I can confirm that this is not suitable for a Terrapin. these turtles need an area to haul out of the water to bask. The filter supplied in these tanks needs to be filled near the top of the tank."

I encourage you to research the fish that you want to find out their needs for temperature, diet, schooling vs territorial, size, water flow etc. There is not a one size fits all unfortunately. I definitely recommend a better heater.
I would say get a better one. I dont think this is strong enough.
