I find this microwave to be value for money, for only £65 it’s quite big, has defrost feature, simple to use. Bought on next day pick up - very easy transaction. In addition it’s a nice looking microwave to have on the side.

Functional Microwave (available when needed)
I’ve now had this since Christmas Eve, and it is straightforward basic microwave that works. The simple analogue controls require little explanation, and it functions as expected. As my existing microwave stopped working 2 days before Christmas, online delivery wasn’t an option, and other local places didn’t have a basic microwave in stock. Instant availability and courteous service at Argos alleviated what could have been an awkward festive period. Observation The unit is more compact than my previous version for the same internal capacity. But that internal space is made up of “alcoves” whose access is limited by a smaller door opening. It means that the previous 2 tier steamer no longer fits through the doorway – the lid must be added later, tilted up and under into the ceiling alcove to position it. It makes cleaning less easy than straight sided versions The interior, as per the description/photos, is grey. When the door is opened (internal light is off) the inside is dark and doesn’t show contents well as the previous microwave that was white. The rotating glass platter seems to come off the spindle more easily than previous microwave. I’ve tried with the previous glass platter – it still comes off easily. I guess that the spindle engagement/register is different – more lose. The Full height door handle makes it very easy to open compared to others with push button door opening. Improvements Russell Hobbs : rotary dials are so smooth and shiny that it is easy to slip. Make them more tactile/knurled. Or add a “spine/ridge” to enable elders to grip better. Great that there is a clear advice label warning of the hysteresis effect of the timer dial for short times (<2 mins). However, the resolution of the timer for short bursts is not great. Others have gearing/spacing with wider “spacing” (for shorter times e.g. up to 2-3 mins) to enable more reproducible 30-45s bursts. It would make warming up mugs of tea/coffee more consistent. Argos : website search for “...with Stainless Steel Interior” returned products listed under that very title. But none had said interior. The search engine just saw the words Stainless Steel and returned results from anywhere in the description – the outer case. (Other websites/dealers had equally imprecise “AI(?)” searches).

Dismal failure, dial is useless.
This was a dismal failure. The dial is not analog it's useless! It does not show how long it is set for and is impossible to accurately control the time I want. Never felt this ripped off in purchasing a basic kitchen appliance for decades.

This has a 25.5cm diameter rotating turntable. The item's internal dimensions are (Width) 30cm x (Depth) 30cm. Technically it might take a plate of up to that diameter. However, for it to not catch or rub against the edges, a plate that's a touch smaller at least than that 30cm would be better, safer, and easier to use.

It is recommended that adjacent walls a minimum clearance of 7.5 cm is required between the oven and any adjacent walls.
The microwave may be placed against a back wall with no clearance is required.
