Really disappointing :(
Johnstones has always been recommended as a fantastic, premium paint brand so this was why I went with them for decking stain. Unfortunately, after buying 60sqm worth of this stain for only a 12sqm area of decking, it's still really patchy, has the original timber colour still shining through across the whole decking and I'm now going to have to buy more stein to achieve the correct results. Not what I was hoping for when going for a premium brand like Johnstones.

Good colour
I bought this tin of decking paint and it just covered my decking with 2 coats. My decking is 3m x 3.2m and it needs another coating. The 3 star is because I feel it could be thicker and cover better.

Thank you for using Q & A.
Hello Max,
The supplier has advised the following for the Johnstone's Woodcare Decking Stain Paint 2.5L - Shaded Grey:
"Given the nature of the stain it does not require a separate primer and can applied direct to suitably prepared and fully dry timber."
I hope this helps.
Thank you for using Q&A.
Hello Dee,
The supplier has advised the following for the Johnstone's Woodcare Decking Satin Paint 2.5L - Grey Shed:
"It is tricky to give a specific answer, as all projects will experience varying degrees of wear, in this case general walking and everyday use should be fine, if there are occasions where items are dragged across the surface, it is these that will play the biggest part in how it performs, not only the product but the underlying timber."
I hope this helps.
Thank you for using Q&A.
