Great product if you are a hairdresser / barber
I bought this item, as my son’s barber comes to the house and the ceiling light isn’t great. This is amazing, I would highly recommend it to any barber / hairdresser / beautician etc. My daughter is also in crafts, so she uses it also.

There is no better option for the price
I paid between 20 and 30 for this on May 2023. In a nutshell, you really cannot go wrong with the price! I work in IT and nothing could be more annoying than having to set up a light, but this thing is simply plug and play into a USB port. It's recommended that you use a high powered USB port but even the good old USB 2.0 port with just 500ma of power can give you enough light, and most importantly without any flickering being visible with the naked eye! Most impressive indeed. This is a large light with a pleasing design and mounting features to make it flexible for most creators. I would not recommend you to mount your DSLR to this though, because it will be too heavy. There are some cold shoe mounts on all four sides, however the plastic is too flimsy to support such types of heavy cameras. If you have a slim, light point and shoot it should work well. There are 1/4 inch threaded female holes for you to more securely attach things to the light, and the light itself has the same to allow you to attach to a tripod, which makes for a quite sturdy, reliable work light. About work light... I actually found that placed on a boom arm, this is an excellent desk/work light! Being able to choose between cool, warm and neutral tones makes this a super versatile light for all circumstances. The diffuser is very effective and you cannot see any individual LEDs as is the case with many cheaper options. Going expensive will only give you gimmicks like WiFi for example. Do you really want to fiddle with your phone every time you want to use your light? Or do you want something that's quick, simple and effective without breaking the bank? I considered the Elgato model at almost £200... I am glad I gave this one a shot, it does one thing and one thing well - shine a light that can change tone and be adjusted. No gimmicks like RGB or WiFi, which you will never use. For the manufacturer in case they read feedback: Removed 1 star for quality - the cold shoe is nice, but there's no way it would take a full DSLR with a lens. I think that including metal cold shoe inserts just like they did with the 1/4 inch holes would've made this a perfect 5 stars! Just make the body a bit sturdier to support more cameras and accessories without changing the price and you're onto a winner, Joby.

Really great ring light
Can't fault it. The light is large and bright, and has multiple settings. It doesn't have a stand though so would need to get that separately, luckily I had one from my old ring light.

Hello there,
After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the Joby Beamo LED Ring Light: It does allow for an iPhone as it has two cold shoe mounts, but like it says in the description it does not come with the phone clamp or tripod.

Thanks for your query about the Joby Beamo LED Ring Light.
This is mains powered. It comes with a USB-A cable that you need to plug into a 5V/2A+ power supply. This power supply plug is not included so you'd need to purchase that separately.
It isnt battery powered - it is USB powered. This must be from a USB wall plug rather than the USB port on your laptop but one that comes with your mobile phone or similar devices should work just fine.
