Great fresh bread everyday
I've only had this bread maker for 2 weeks, and it's surpassed my expectations. Panasonic have improved on their old model. Great bread, the white rapid loaf is excellent considering short cycle time. I just hope Panasonic have made adjustments to the automatic seed dispenser as this always breaks on older models.

Have had a few bread makers. over the years and have struggled with making a good size and shape loaf using a mixture of wholemeal and white flour, this Panasonic does it perfectly and also is easier to keep clean with it's stainless steel under the lid .

Makes nice white bread but wholemeal bread is very poor, heavy, sunken in middle and very dense, tried recipe suggested in instructions. Old panasonic breadmaker much better.

Big let down.
Very disappointed with results. Loaves were smaller than expected and dense. Recipies uped the sugar from teaspoons to tablespoons. Phoned Panasonic and they suggested returning it to supplier. I returned it to Argos for a refund.

Excellent bread nachine
This is a really good bread making machine, it looks complicated but it's not, I have used it every weekend when I'm not at work, the bread is so light with a good crust evenly around your loaf. I will really test it when I retire. A bit expensive but the quality of the machine is good

The SD-YR2550SXC: comes with a clear silver colour and it doesn't include the spelt bread program.
The SD-YR2540SXC: comes with a gun metal colour which is the nearest color to the silver. It's more like a Its kind a dark silver color and it contains the spelt bread program.

Overall, its not too bad, other than when the yeast is dispensed, when it makes about 8 loud bangs, which have woken me up in the night before, but fortunately my 4yr old Grandson slept through! That With the kitchen door closed, and my bedroom upstairs, hope this helps.

No, you cant use spelt flour in this model, its only in the SD-YR2540. I own this model, the YR2550, and it specifically says in the manual you cant use spelt.
