Excellent for it's purpose.
This is the second one of these that I have purchased. The first one has given good service over the last twelve months . The solar panel which faces in a south easterly direction has kept a good charge even when the bad weather barely gives daylight. The build quality is sturdy and has the ability to angle the solar panel and LED panel separately which is useful. At night the LED panel gives a constant faint glow until triggered by the motion sensor. This is their normal behaviour and has not been an issue with it's operation. This is not meant to be a whole garden spot light. The brightness is sufficient for temporary patio coverage when triggered.

"It depends on the mode it is in. Please see the below
Key Modes:
Security Mode (Motion Detection): The light remains off during the day and turns on at full brightness when motion is detected at night, then turns off after 20 seconds of no activity.
Presence Mode (Dim to Bright): The light operates at a low-level brightness (dim) at night and increases to full brightness when motion is detected.
Dusk 'til Dawn/Continuous Mode: The unit can be set to provide continuous light throughout the night."

Regarding the Luceco 5W Solar PIR Outdoor Floodlight. When the battery is above 30% you can single press the power button and it will automatically turn on to full brightness when motion is detected and ambient light is low. Then dims to 3% brightness in 20 seconds when no motion is detected.
When the battery is lower than 30% it will automatically turn on to full brightness when motion is detected. Then turns off in 20 seconds when no motion is detected.
You can also hold the power button for 3 seconds to enter override mode which disables the Motion and Light sensors. It will then turn on to full brightness until the battery capacity reduces to zero switching back to security mode.

The supplier has advised the following for the Luceco 5W Solar PIR Outdoor Floodlight:
No, not usually. "A drill would be needed to aid in the cable feed and mounting points to fasten the light into place".
The only time a drill might not be needed is if it's replacing a pre-existing floodlight that happens to have required pre-drilled screw holes of the same size and spacing as those of this product.

As this is a motion sensor light yes this would come on if a dog moves, You will need to adjust the PIR placement and settings as noted in the user instructions for the Luceco 5W Solar PIR Outdoor Floodlight
