About this product
The Lloyd Storage Cabin Bed keeps kids' rooms tidy without taking up loads of space. It's a single bed with clever storage sorted throughout, there's a headboard shelf for books or toys, a pull-out side drawer, and two deep drawers underneath the bed frame. Everything your child needs stays in one place, so you're not hunting for missing toys or clothes. The grey wood-effect frame looks fresh and modern, while cut-out handles keep things simple and easy to use. It's designed for any age from four years upwards, so it'll grow with them.
It comes with a Habitat Rae Comfort Open Coil Single Mattress that's got 323 springs for support and a medium feel. The mattress is foam-free, chemical treatment-free and hypoallergenic, so it's better for healthier sleep. You won't need to turn it either, it's single-sided so just rotate it regularly. Wall-mounting is required for stability because the storage headboard's over 60cm high, that's really important for keeping kids safe. Self-assembly's needed with two people recommended, and it supports up to 100kg. Comes with a one-year manufacturer's guarantee.

Bed
The holes did not always match and the screws were tight. The bed is longer then a single bed so always measure the space with the headboard. The wood is notvery strong and started to bend when it was sat on

Bought this for my Grandson who is five as he had outgrown his old bed. Great storage but the bed is very low although that is no a bad thing.

Creaky
I bought this in July. It's already very creaky. This is despite the fact we barely use it (it was intended as a guest bed until my son is old enough to use it). On the plus side the storage is good, the mattress is comfy and it was fairly easy to put together

Short on parts
Bought the bed. Assembled it to the point I couldn’t. As 2 of the main support struts were missing. They run the full length of the bed. After speaking with habitat and Argos. I was told the parts are out of stock. I had to go to B&Q to get wood cut. At cost too. Stay away from this bed.

Amazing bed
Bought this bed for my 10 year old daughter, I am very happy with the way it looks and the practicality of it. My daughter loves the hidden shelf, it’s her new hiding place for stuff she doesn’t want her brothers to find. She also puts her bits and bobs there all hidden away. Easy to assemble, my husband did it on his own.

“The bed once assembled is symmetrical and can be position with the drawers facing left or right. The headboard that is also available can be either end.”

Having checked with the supplier for you I can let you know the bed conforms to British Standard BS8509 2008 + A1 2011 Children's beds for domestic use.
The standard is used for beds designed for children aged 4 years or more - this is the correct age as far as the testing is concerned.

This Argos Home Lloyd Cabin Bed has been tested to a maximum user weight of 100kg, so provided he weighs less than this it'll be fine for him.
