It’s everything they say it is and more. I’ve had mine for a few weeks now and I’ve yet to find anything it can’t cope with. It just gets on with the job at hand with no stress or dramas, seemingly without breaking a sweat. I used it to mix a ginger cake I’ve been making from the same recipe for many years, and for the first time ever I had to move my oven shelves. The cake rose so much better with all the extra air the KitchenAid was able to add to the mix. Having been making this particular cake for probably twenty years that came as a bit of a surprise! I wish I’d bought it years ago.

To be brutally honest, not a lot. The internal workings of the new mixers are exactly the same, as are the external form and dimensions. You still get a mixer with a robust and stable full metal construction, powerful direct drive motor and planetary action which moves the beater to the edge of the bowl at 67 different points. The attachment hub is also the same, turning the mixer into a true kitchen aid thanks to the many useful attachments available. The main difference is the amount of attachments that come with the different models.
'Off-white' is not very accurate! Almond Cream is the colour name provided by Kitchen Aid.
