Good Product
Used on all my ourside uPVC white window cils in preparation for painting them with a standard black gloss water based paint. I did this in summer & they still have a great glossy black finish with no streaking. Best primer product I have personally used on uPVC.

used it to paint over MDF
MDF is very hard to paint over , it peels off. (I guess this may do to...it's too soon to say) However I saw a video on painting MDF and they used a Johnstone ( Universal) primer ...which is very expensive. If you go to Johnstone's own web site , they no longer seem to offer the Universal but do have this (any surface) which I take to be the new name/replacement ...anyhow it's a whole lot cheaper at Argos

Excellent primer
I bought this paint having used it before. I’ve used it to paint a door and I’m happy with the look. I don’t feel I need to gloss over it. It’s done the job perfectly

Great primer
I purchased this as we moved into a property where they had bathroom tiles as splashbacks all around the kitchen and needed to change the colour until we are ready to purchase a new kitchen.I must admit this product is amazing to roll onto plastic. Let it dry and applied an oil based paint over the top and had a fantastic result. So glad I found this product and would use on other projects.. definitely a ten out ten

Nice to use.
Went on radiators with good coverage and didn’t dry to quickly allowing time to brush out any potential runs.

Hi Eggs
The Johnstone's Any Surface Primer Paint 750ml - White can be used as a primer for MDF kitchen cabinets but will require a top coat of gloss or satin finish. It is not suitable for worktops though.
Thanks for using Q&A.
Hello Christina,
The supplier has advised the following for the Johnstone's Any Surface Primer Paint 750ml - White:
I wouldn't advise Any Surface primer on planters
This isn't because of the adhesion , it would be because the moisture from the soil in the planters that would potentially push the paint off.
The primer would go on with any top coat but could not guarantee the longevity.
I hope this helps.
Thank you for using Q&A.
Hello Tony,
After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the Johnstone's Any Surface Primer Paint 750ml - White: Regretfully the material detailed is not suitable for worktops, the level of wear and exposure will likely cause a loss of adhesion over time.
Hope this helps.
Thank you for using Q & A.
Hi there,
After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the Johnstone's Any Surface Primer Paint 750ml: After a water leak has been experienced there maybe some residual staining appear after re-painting, this will look like a brown tea coloured stain. To prevent this from happening a more suitable product to apply is Stain Block Paint | Matt Finish - White - 750ml rather than the any surface primer.
Hope this helps.
Thank you for using Q & A
