This has been designed for use with the stand so would not recommend use without the stand. There are table lamps available in this range if you are looking for something smaller.

“ This lamp has not been tested for use with a smart bulb, so I can’t make any guarantees, but as it is only a fabric shade then I would expect there to be no problems using a smart bulb. The in-line switch would need to be constantly left in the on position as well. ”
