I only bought this a few days ago and I so happy with it. Had a bit of trouble setting it up but once I did it was great.

Sounds good and that’s about it.
This product sounds really good - especially for its size but that’s where it stops. Siri is even more stupid on this than on the iPhone. Forget playing BBC stations efficiently unless you want to make shortcuts in your phone. In fact most things run via your phone so you go pick up your phone later and you have to adjust it for whatever was playing on the home pod. Also forget asking about the weather etc. since it’s not going to give you much detail. I recommend the Google speaker.

Got rid of Amazon to big a company now problems with deliveries so pulled the plug on them so my Alexa does not work as you need Amazon account so opted for Apple hub that will do me SIRI now not Alexa goodby

Great. We love ours
I bought two of these to add to the one we have already set up, love them, they are so easy to set up and use and are responsive. We can even listen to different music in different rooms for all the family's enjoyment. The sound is great and can be controlled via Iphone or handsfree and even has a intercom feature to connect to other rooms/speakers.

If it's played from another device and streamed to it, you can ask Siri for BBC sound but not VLC as there is no integration.

Ensure your HomePod Mini is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your iOS device (iPhone, iPad, or Mac).
Open the Spotify app and play the song or playlist you want to stream.
Tap the AirPlay icon in the Now Playing bar or Control Center on your device.
Select your HomePod Mini from the list of available devices.
While you can use Siri to play music, the HomePod Mini does not support native Spotify integration, so AirPlay is the primary method for streaming.
