Great TV for the price.
My mums TV suddenly stopped working around 4.30pm, she doesnt drive and was worried how she was going to resolve it quickly. I checked online with the fault and after checking Argos it looked like it was going to cost more to fix than it was to replace for a better TV spec that existing. We narrowed it down to two and obviously had to be Samsung, we love their products and have multiple items throughout our home and never had issues with them. The decision came down to screen resolution, for an extra Ā£30 the screen was better and was on offer so was a win win. We immediately ordered online for collection at a nearby store and all this was completed within 2 hours. This is the convenience that we need and saved my mum from a boring evening. The TV itself was extremely easy to set up, the onscreen instructions made it so simple that even my non-technical mum understood and was completed so quickly. The TV is slightly thicker than the previous but was very sturdy and narrower around the edge so felt bigger than the previous. My mum is partially blind and partially deaf so the sound and picture is the most important part for my mum and she is very impressed with the sharpness and brightness of the screen making it easier for her and was suprised the sound level being much better that she isnt having to turn her hearing aids up to help hear the sound without worrying it is too loud for the neighbours. The value for this level of quality is excellent and would highly recommend, im just trying to convince my husband to upgrade our own TVs now too.

No Teletext !!!!
I brought this in Argos and they were fine. But the product was not!!! I tried to get teletext and all I got was a screen message, Not Available šš I tried a number of different ways to access it but to no avail. Should have brought a different tv.

Yes, a Sony soundbar can be connected to the Samsung 50ā QE50QEF1AU TV. The TV supports standard audio connections, so compatibility will not be an issue.
The recommended connection method is HDMI ARC / eARC (if your Sony soundbar supports this). You would simply connect an HDMI cable from the TVās HDMI port labelled ARC/eARC to the HDMI ARC port on the soundbar. This provides the best sound quality and allows the TV remote to control the soundbar volume.
If your soundbar does not support HDMI ARC, you can alternatively connect it using an optical (digital audio) cable, which is also fully supported by this TV.
Bluetooth connection is also available if your Sony soundbar supports Bluetooth, although a wired connection is recommended for the best audio performance.

The manufacturer of this Samsung 50 Inch QE50QEF1AU Smart 4K UHD HDR QLED TV has advised that it has a 178Ā° viewing angle. Please note this is the angle at which an image is visible, but image quality can degrade at high angles. The best experience would always be head-on.
They do also advise that an OLED panel may be more suitable if you're viewing at an angle over 45Ā°.
