The beans arent in a separate cover, so it would mean unzipping the back and trying to get all the beans out. Oh gawd, I thought I would be able to carefully pour them into a bin bag... I was still finding polystyrene balls about a year later!

You can remove the polystyrene from inside via the zipper and wash the cover in a machine, I do it with mine all the time. Not recommended by the manufacturer but ive never had a problem doing it
