About this product
This washable mat protects from muddy boots and wet paws without constant cleaning. Made from 100% polypropylene with a flatweave construction, it's stain and fade resistant, keeping its look in high-traffic spots. The non-slip rubber backing grips the floor firmly, so it stays put by the door or hallway. It soaks up water, holding up to four times its weight, and dries quickly to avoid damp patches. British designed and manufactured, it's built to handle whatever gets dragged in from outside.
The olive plain design works with pretty much any colour scheme you've already got going. You can chuck it in the washing machine when it gets grubby, and it comes out fresh without losing its shape or colour. At 150cm long and 67cm wide, it covers a good stretch of floor by doorways or along narrow halls. The polypropylene construction makes it hard wearing enough for daily use, and it's soft underfoot despite being tough on mess. Love the texture of this rug. Have bought several of these rugs and wouldn’t buy anything else now. Unlike most rugs that slip around on the floor, once in place these rugs stay put. Great product and not a bad price.

“ Yes, the backing is black but it should not stain the carpet. But, to be on the side of caution,if the rug had been washed I wouldn’t put a damp rug down on the carpet I would make sure its dry first. ”

I had the same problem. It does make it easier if the rug is wet as the backing becomes softer, therefore with a lot of pushing and adjusting it is possible to push it inside most washing machines. It takes me about 10 minutes to get the dry rug inside my washing machine but once the washing cycle starts the rug softens even more so it will wash it well. Hope this helps.

Without knowing the size of your washing machine it is difficult to comment. If the rug is folded twice, this may help but wetting it first should not make any real difference
